The superhero leader of the Guardians of the Globe is here to put up a fight.
Developer Quarter Up gave fans a closer look at The Immortal, one of 3v3 tag fighter Invincible VS’s first DLC characters. Joining the roster on June 30, The Immortal enters the stacked lineup of fan-favorite fighters, such as Mark Grayson (Invincible), Omni-Man, Atom Eve, Rex Splode, Cecil Stedman, Robot, Monster Girl, Allen the Alien, Dupli-Kate, Ella Mental and many more.
The Immortal’s origin is a true mystery, even to himself. Ancient warrior, knight, crusader... the list goes on and on. Over thousands of years, he has lived as countless historical figures and now serves as the leader of the Guardians of the Globe. Gruff, no-nonsense and relentlessly aggressive, he also carries an immense burden of grief, trauma and loss. As the sole survivor of the original Guardians of the Globe massacre at the hands of Omni-Man, he trusts very few people, with Cecil and Dupli-Kate among the rare exceptions. Possessing powers similar to a Viltrumite's, he never backs down from a fight, even against opponents stronger than himself.
In Invincible VS, The Immortal is a powerful Striker Fighter who excels at applying relentless pressure and closing the distance. He charges forward without hesitation, overwhelming opponents with aggressive combinations before using his revive ability to return to the fight even angrier, and even more dangerous, than before.
Fans will have the chance to go hands-on with The Immortal at the Invincible VS booth during Evo in Las Vegas, NV, from June 26 - 28, ahead of his official launch on June 30. As an official tournament partner, the best-of-the-best Invincible VS players will duke it out on the Evo main stage throughout the weekend, with the sole winner crowned on Sunday, June 28, and taking home a life-sized Conquest Gauntlet trophy.
Quarter Up also unveiled the 2026 roadmap for Invincible VS, with details on what’s in store for Season 1, launching June 30. In addition to new DLC fighters Universa and The Immortal, players will be able to experience a new Endless Arcade mode and unlock new cosmetics. The team also revealed that Season 2 will launch in October, while Season 3 will close out the year in December. Each Season will introduce a new fighter, fresh cosmetics and more.

Universa & The Immortal join the fight on June 30
We’re pumped to confirm that BOTH Universa and The Immortal will be joining the Invincible VS roster with the launch of our Season 1 Update on June 30.
Universa is the Chosen of her people, tasked to travel the stars in search of energy to save her dying world. She is the only one who can wield the Staff of Leadership, which bestows her with immense power and allows her to both absorb and unleash massive amounts of energy. The more boost meter she has, the stronger Universa becomes. Universa must tactically manipulate her Boost and unleash it all at the right time to overwhelm opponents.
The Immortal was a caveman who found an unknown energy source that made him, well… immortal. He has been many historical figures and is now the superhero leader of the Guardians of the Globe. He is gruff and no-nonsense but also hides an immense amount of grief and trauma. The Immortal is a striker with a variety of gap closers from both ground and air. What he lacks in finesse, he makes up for in aggression and once up close, he can pummel opponents with a flurry of multihit attacks. His revive allows him to take more risks than other characters and his install supports his aggression.
Season 1 Patch
Universa and The Immortal aren’t the only things you can look forward to in Season 1. We’ll have full patch notes available on June 30, but here’s a glimpse at what’s in store.
- New Fighters: Universa & The Immortal
- New Mode: Endless Arcade
- New Ranked Season and Rewards
- New Cosmetics
- Tons of Quality of Life Improvements, Gameplay Updates, and Bug Fixes
2026 Roadmap
The fight doesn’t stop after Season 1, and we’ve got even more plans for the rest of the year.
New Fighters, Modes, Quality of Life updates, and more are all on the horizon. We can’t wait to share details as we get closer to Season 2 and 3 in October and December respectively.
Invincible VS Competitive Support Program
Throughout the rest of the year, we’re going to be working directly with a few major offline FGC events and one regular Online Series to raise the stakes for Invincible VS tournaments. More importantly, we want to support the organizers and make it easy for players to support their local scene by partnering with a few locals in key regions.
Check out our full Competitive Support Program Article for more details.
Invincible VS is available for Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC (Steam) on April 30, 2026.
