Marvel Rivals is a cooperative, Super Hero team-based PVP shooter that lets players assemble an ever-evolving all-star squad of Super Heroes and Super Villains while battling with unique super powers across a dynamic lineup of destructible maps from across the Marvel Multiverse. 

Marvel Rivals features a storyline crafted by the NetEase writing team where the merciless clash between the tyrannical dictator Doctor Doom and his future counterpart from the year 2099 has forced countless universes to collide in the Timestream Entanglement, creating new worlds and crises still unknown.

Now, Super Heroes and Super Villains from across the multiverse must fight together and against one another as disparate groups seek to defeat both Dooms before one achieves domination of these realities. Familiar faces become newfound foes while former enemies become the greatest of allies in Marvel Rivals!

You’re not just higher-dimensional beings controlling game characters, nor are you elite players pressing buttons at high APM — you ARE the heroes. We wanted to take these Super Heroes and push them like never before! Use Magneto to cast Metal Bulwark to protect your teammates from projectile damage. Choose Hela and call upon forces of Nastrond to annihilate your enemies. Choose Venom to tap into the power of the symbiote and devour your enemies or pick Adam Warlock and unleash the potential of quantum magic, establishing a soul bond with your teammates to charge ahead or resurrect your entire team. Heroes are split into three distinct roles based on their unique power inclinations: Vanguard, Duelist, and Strategist. You’re free to pick your preferred role and hero, teaming up with allies to create a versatile and dynamic lineup for battle.

Marvel Games and NetEase Games have unveiled full details for Season 9: The Mystery of Thebes, launching July 10 for Marvel Rivals.

This season focuses on the Collapsed Timeline, where Apocalypse, the first mutant, witnesses the destruction of the world and targets the gods for culling. But as he attempts to absorb their faith and ascend to godhood, he is mysteriously assassinated, leading to a series of murders among the heroes investigating his death.

The Marvel Rivals team is rolling out a truly massive Team-Up abilities update with a systemic, full-roster, ground-up rework that will bring an incredibly fresh and fun dynamic to combat. Black Widow will receive a major rework to usher in a new glorious era for the character. Fans can put on their shades as Jubilee will join Marvel Rivals for Season 9 as a Strategist and The Hood will join the game in the second half of the season. A brand-new Convoy map, Thebes, will officially go live following the July 23 update. A brand-new game mode, Path to Doomsday - Avengers: Age of Ultron, will also be available starting July 30. Finally, from July 29 to August 1, the Marvel Rivals Ignite Series Mid-Season Finals will be taking over Los Angeles.

Jubilee (Strategist) – Jubilee is a Strategist, a lively manipulator of fireworks who can control vibrant energy plasmoids in combat to heal her teammates, while simultaneously damaging and blinding enemies. And for the grand finale, her Ultimate Ability unleashes a lethal, dazzling firework show across the battlefield!

Season 9 will introduce a truly massive new update as a systemic, full-roster, ground-up rework will bring an incredibly fresh and fun dynamic to combat in the game. This will include the epic evolution of Team-Up System as every single hero will possess two completely independent Team-Up Ability loadouts and every Team-Up loadout will feature a ‘Base Effect’ and an ‘Enhanced Effect.’ Also, in Season 9, players will get to see the return of some classic Team-Ups, such as Metallic Chaos. Finally, Black Widow will also receive a major rework to her full combat loop for an all-new experience.

On July 30, the brand-new game mode, Path to Doomsday - Avengers: Age of Ultron, will take players straight into Avengers Tower and Ultron's Data Space to battle Ultron and his mechanical army. At the same time, a series of events in the Times Square lobby will be launching.

The Marvel Rivals Ignite Series Mid-Season Finals will be taking over Los Angeles from July 29 to August 1! The top 10 teams from the four major global regions will battle it out on stage, competing for the very first World Championship title of the competitive year.

In Marvel Rivals, the bonds and friendships that once lived only in the lore are brought to life on the battlefield through Team-Up Abilities, further enriching and changing your combat strategy. Magneto can receive a touch of Scarlet Witch’s chaos magic and use his giant steel sword to slash at enemies with a chaos energy wave. Hulk can enhance Iron Man’s Nano Armor, enabling it to emit incredibly powerful gamma energy infused in his Unibeam. Of course, the classic scene where Rocket Raccoon rides on Groot’s shoulders and fires wildly at the enemy can also be recreated in the game.
