'Denshattack!' Sells Over 150,000 Copies In Its First Month

by Rainier on Aug. 21, 2026 @ 4:50 p.m. PDT

Jump, launch and flip trains on the abandoned railways of a futuristic and dystopian Japan in Denshattack!.

Denshattack! answers the age-old question: What if Tony Hawk tricked with a train?

Get into the flowstate of rail-hopping trick combos with Denshattack!’s 50+ levels while mastering fast, fluid and deep gameplay. Conducting trains and combos through such extreme situations takes practice and precision; Denshattack!’s refreshingly unconventional ride dares you to drift on walls, clear massive chasms and push the limits of your ride for absolutely sick boss fights. Only the wildest drivers ready to defy the antiquated norms of trickless mass transit will clear Denshattack!’s extraordinary challenges and unlock all-new, fun-twisting levels around Japan - all while learning skills along the way.

In a world where a climate catastrophe has rendered the rich untouchable via their air-purifying domes, the rest are left to survive in the undomed wastelands of a derelict Japan. A rebellious movement known as Denshattack has reclaimed this wasteland for its own and rebuilt the broken-down sections of the abandoned legacy railroad tracks. Now, a colorful variety of underground gangs vie in territory duels. Meanwhile, the domed cities remain oblivious to the outside world, connected by a hypersonic vacuum-tube transport network called VACTRAIN, created by megacorporation Miraido, which now controls much of daily life in the country.

Create a trick style that is unique to you in Denshattack! by mastering tricks your way, and reap the rewards of your rebellious nature by gaining upgrades as you become the best of the best across all of Japan. This is extreme train action at the highest level imaginable.

This summer brought long days of sunshine, green grass and high-speed, adrenaline-rushing, kickflipping train action for more than 300,000 extreme train conductors when Undercoders’ Denshattack! launched in July on PC, Xbox X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PlayStation 5.

Today, publisher Fireshine Games revealed the title has sold more than 150,000 copies worldwide and drawn more than 300,000 total players, alongside a whopping 98% positive user review score on Steam and 88 aggregate score on Metacritic.

“The response to Denshattack! has been tremendous,” said Sarah Hoeksma, chief marketing officer at Fireshine Games. “Denshattack! delivers a fearless, bold celebration of classic video game fun that went above and beyond expectations this summer, while delivering remarkable value to players. The fan response has been an incredible addition to the Fireshine label, which continues to deliver outstanding quality games like Far Far West and Duskfade, games that harness what a modern game can and should be – without breaking the budget in terms of development or consumer pricing.”

Since launch, Denshattack! has incorporated meaningful updates to the title and has plans for larger content updates in coming months to support its growing fanbase. New challenges, unlockables and more pull fans deeper into the game, granting players the ability to hone their skills.

Denshattack! will be playable on the gamescom showfloor Aug. 26-30 at the Catalan Arts Stand, Stand 30, Indie Arena Booth, Hall 10.2.

Laying the tracks with Undercoders for Denshattack! is game director David Jaumandreu (Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound) with slick beats from lead composer Tee Lopes (Sonic ManiaSonic FrontiersTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge) - more guest composers are planned for announcement soon from an all-star lineup of talented musicians this fall, in collaboration with acclaimed video game music label Kid Katana.

Fans can listen to “Densha ni notte ne! ~電車に乗ってね!~”, the new single by Tee Lopes featured in the trailer.

Denshattack! is available for Nintendo Switch 2, PC (Steam), Xbox Series X|S and PS5.
