Nintendo Co.'s president Thursday announced plans for new products that would appeal to a broader range of game fans, saying the complexity of today's video games was scaring off consumers.
"All these complex, large-capacity games of today require enormous amount of energy and time of users," said Satoru Iwata, president of Nintendo.
"I want to release a very different product, and by next spring we'll be ready to announce the details," he said without elaborating.

NVIDIA Corporation today announced that it is the title sponsor for QuakeCon 2003, the world's definitive multiplayer tournament and PC gaming event. In addition to being the title sponsor, the Company also announced that the NVIDIA GeForce FX 5900 Ultra graphics processing unit (GPU) has been named "official GPU of QuakeCon 2003" and will be used to showcase the highly-anticipated PC game, Doom 3.

Konami of America has announced that Silent Hill 3 for the PlayStation 2 has been shipped to stores in North America. The game will include a bonus soundtrack CD featuring music from the game.
