Silicon Graphics has sued ATI, claiming the graphics chipmaker infringed a computer-graphics patent that ATI's competitors have licensed. Patent No. 6,650,327, filed in 1998 and awarded in 2003, involves describing graphical elements with floating-point numerals to balance the range and precision of values that can be stored. If the SCG lawsuit is found legit, that means any DirectX9 based gfx chip manufacturer is liable if they do not have licensed the technology.

2K and Valve today announced an agreement to bring a collection of 2K PC games to Steam, starting with Civ III, Civ IV, Shattered Union and Sid Meier's Pirates.

Ubisoft released its sales numbers for the 1st semester 2006-07, and while the 1st quarter was up 13% (from €153M to €172M), the 2nd quarter was down 7% (€102M versus €110M). Overall results exceeded expectations, but more importantly, Ubisoft revealed Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 is in development and scheduled for Q4 2006-07 (Jan-Mar 2007), while Assassin's Creed and Brothers In Arms Hell's Highway have been delayed until fiscal year 2007-08 (anywhere from Apr 2007-Mar 2008). Seven additional Wii titles are in development, bringing the total of games for Nintendo's next-gen console to 14 by the end of March 2007.

El Matador is a third person action game with stealth elements set in the environment of the Central and South America. Cenega has released the first patch, bringing all versions, except the German edition, to v1.1 adding widescreen support, optimizes performance, gfx improvements and various other fixes, and tweaks.
