Only the most ruthless killers can join the underground elite known as The Club. From acclaimed developer Bizarre Creations, The Club takes the explosive action of the shooter genre and blends it with break-neck speed of high-octane race titles to create a radically new kind of action experience. Players will blast through a secretive tournament known only as The Club, where the world’s rich and powerful watch merciless fighters test their skills. While highly trained and effectively brutal, most combatants find themselves forced to participate. The posse of urban warriors represents a variety of countries and backgrounds. They share almost

PC Preview - 'Sabotage'

by Rainier on Jan. 1, 2006 @ 1:30 a.m. PST | Filed under E3 - Post - E3 2007

Genre: Stealth-Action
Publisher: Gamecock
Developer: Replay Studios
Release Date: 2008

"We're a team based in Germany," the developer said, "and we're making a World War II stealth action game."

An awkward silence followed.

Most of the World War II games that have come out up until now have been riding a bizarre nostalgia wave. WWII has come to occupy an odd niche in American society as the last good fight; after that, it's all downhill and shades of gray.

Sabotage is most notable because it's not being made by Americans or Brits, so it's coming from an obviously different place.

At its media briefing at the E3 Media & Business Summit, Nintendo announced multiple new games (Wii fit) and accessories (balance board, Wii Zapper) designed to reinforce that bridge and further demonstrate everyone is a gamer.

"Games like Wii Sports and the original Brain Age proved anyone can pick up a video game system and immediately have fun," says Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime. "We're building on that foundation with games and accessories appealing to our current fan base and drawing in even more new players."

New games and accessories not only demonstrate that Nintendo is not going to coast on

Xbox 360 Preview - 'Mass Effect'

by Rainier on Jan. 1, 2006 @ 1:30 a.m. PST | Filed under E3 - Post - E3 2007

Genre: RPG
Publisher: Microsoft Game Studios
Developer: BioWare
Release Date: November 2007

Mass Effect may be the most highly anticipated Xbox 360 title to not be spawned from an established franchise, but the universe-exploring RPG has something else going for it that might be worth as much as a million-selling predecessor: the BioWare logo emblazoned on its packaging. More importantly, BioWare’s trademarked style of highly customizable experiences, introduced to console gamers with Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and Jade Empire, infuses every inch of Mass Effect, its most ambitious project to date.

Genre: First-Person Shooter
Publisher: Electronic Arts
Developer: EA LA
Release Date: August 28, 2007

"Medal of Honor first came out in 1999, and pretty much since then, not just the Medal of Honor series, but all World War II first-person shooters have followed the Medal of Honor formula," started Chris Busse, producer on Medal of Honor: Airborne. "You know, a linear path, scripted events, the guys do the same thing… a very similar experience time and time again when you played through. We really wanted to break that formula. That was the biggest goal for us."

And with that, we're

Wii Preview - 'Boogie'

by Rainier on Jan. 1, 2006 @ 1:30 a.m. PST | Filed under E3 - E3 2007 - July 11th

Boogie

Genre: Rhythm/Karaoke
Publisher: Electronic Arts
Developer: EA Montreal
Release Date: August 7, 2007

Boogie is not the most technical rhythm/dance game on the market, nor is it likely to be the most comprehensive karaoke experience, but the most important negative statement we can make after spending time with the game is that it is not, by any means, hardcore. The learning curve is largely nonexistent, the visuals and concepts are notably non-threatening, and the soundtrack is comprised entirely of pop and R&B hits from the last several decades. In other words, the game is very, very mainstream.

Which is fine, but many
