At the Leipzig Game Convention Atari revealed the official title of the newest game in the Driver franchise. Driver : Parallel Lines will be released on PS2 and Xbox, scheduled for March 2006. In ParallelLines Atari goes back in time as the setting for the game is late 70's, New York, where you play a young criminal named The Kid. Reflections seems to no longer be using the boat, but there will be about 80 other vehicles in the game, and you will be able to stick your gun out the window, and shoot while driving. Racing will take up 80% of the game, and the remainder are the on-foot missions & minigames. Unilke Driv3r, Parallel Lines will have various online multiplayer modes for up to 8 players.

We are committed to making the 1.03 Update as comprehensive as possible, so while it is important to us to keep the release date, it is more important that we take the time to do this right."
