Global Star Announces 'Airport Tycoon 3'

Today Global Star Software has announced plans to release Airport Tycoon 3 for the PC Platform. Under development at Interactive Vision, Global Star plans to incorporate all the features of the popular original Airport Tycoon, and its sequel Airport Tycoon 2, while adding scores of new features and improvements. Global Star Software currently plans to release Airport Tycoon 3 in the winter of 2003.

Focus Interactive/Cyanide Studio have released patch another beta patch for their recently released cycling simulation game Cycling Manager 3. This upgrade brings your retail game to v1.3b (v1.2 was released and immediately pulled because it made the game crash in TimeTrial mode) and fixes the 'time bug', adjusts some ratings, improves AI, fixes a few problems in editor, etc. Read more for detailed fix list and download list.

Earlier today UbiSoft sent their 2002/2003 fiscal year results, which can also be viewed online. Apart from the fact that UbiSoft did very well, it also reveals a premilinary release date for Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow, which according to the report is scheduled for March 2004.

ESRB Updates Their Game Rating System

The Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) announced advances to the computer and video game rating system today designed to provide parents and other consumers with a new and unprecedented level of detail about game content. The changes include the addition of four new ESRB content descriptors -- short, standardized phrases printed on the back of game boxes that alert consumers to content elements that may be of interest or concern -- and new, bolder labels intended to draw consumer attention to those content descriptors. Sony Plans 'Star Wars Galaxies' Add-on For 2004

This much-anticipated first add-on for the Star Wars Galaxies series, scheduled for release in 2004, will introduce personal starships and starfighters, which can be used for interplanetary travel or space combat. The expansion also promises additional worlds, playable species, non-player characters, new creatures and more! "The staggered release schedule of the space component of the Star Wars Galaxies series will benefit players because they will have time to establish their characters and explore different elements of the core game before we add the space layer," says Rich Vogel, director of development at Sony Online Entertainment's Austin studio. "Once the space component becomes available, players who have been with us since the beginning will be ready to buy their own starships and launch into this new arena."
