Take-Two Interactive's Gathering publishing division has shipped Conflict: Desert Storm II: Back to Baghdad for the GameCube. GameCube owners will be able to storm the sands of Iraq in this intense, squad-based shooter alone or with up to three other friends in four-player cooperative multi-player mode for the ultimate in team-based combat.

Gotham Games a publishing label of Take-Two announced today that Conflict: Desert Storm II - Back to Baghdad for the PlayStation2 computer entertainment system, the Xbox video game system from Microsoft, and PC has shipped to retail outlets in North America. The game follows up on the successful title Conflict: Desert Storm, which sold over 750,000 units in North America since its launch in September 2002. Conflict: Desert Storm II captures all of the intense, third-person squad-based action of the original and builds on it as players command U.S. Delta Forces or British SAS over the sands of Iraq to crush what remains of Saddam's evil regime.
SCi Buys 'Conflict: Desert Storm' Developer Pivotal

UK-based game publisher SCi Entertainment has acquired Pivotal Games for 2.36 million pounds (approximately 3.9 million dollars). Pivotal is the developer of the Conflict: Desert Storm series of tactical shooters and The Great Escape. Pivotal is completing the third game in the Conflict series and has begun development of the fourth. Pivotal Games was previously a subsidiary of Kaboom Studios – which recently closed its doors due to the poor performance of other components of its business. Pivotal currently employs approximately 70 people. The move is a unique one for SCi - which operates a business model generally based on outsourcing development to third parties.

Shortly after the big success of Conflict:Desert Storm SCI/Pivotal started working on sequels hoping to cash in even more on the trend of today's events. We scored some new screens for the PS2 & Xbox versions of the game. The players inventory now supports smooth scrolling and hot keys which allow the player to quickly navigate its contents. Before, the inventory didn’t have an end as it cyclically wrapped which inevitably caused confusion. The inventory also now supports transparency at either end. Read more to check them out!

This is the first product release from Gotham Games, a publishing label established by Take-Two earlier this year.
