Konami Digital Entertainment - America, today unveiled Phantom Crash 2050 for the PlayStation2. Scheduled to ship in February 2005, Phantom Crash 2050 is bringing the mech combat genre online to the PS2 for the first time ever.

Year is 2025. The Japanese government, in order to cope with the massive air pollution and endless economic loss of Tokyo, transfers the capital to "Neo Tokyo", a dome city built on the Tokyo Harbor. A few years later, abandoned "Old Tokyo" becomes the battleground for "Rumbling". In Rumbling, the contenders face each other while riding highly mobile armored land vehicles called "Scoobees", and receive fortune and fame by destroying others. Phantagram has announced that the eagerly awaited game, Phantom Crash, has gone gold. Phantom Crash, developed by Genki Co Ltd., is a Robot/Mech shoot 'em up that is best described a cross between Sega's Virtua On, and Id Software's Quake 3. Encore today announced that it has signed an exclusive co-publishing agreement with Phantagram Interactive, an international publisher and distributor of electronic entertainment software, to bring five new videogames and PC games to market. Under this agreement, Phantagram will deliver game content, while Encore will manage sales and distribution in North America. The first of these games will be Phantom Crash, a 3D mech action game scheduled for release by year end on the Xbox.
