Back in 1998 (yes THAT long ago) a certain developer called Dynamix came into the market with StarSiege Tribes, which literally took the online community by storm. Many to date still credit the original StarSiege: Tribes as the title that made the move from regular deathmatch online action into the more organized cooperative, or an early version of team-based gameplay. 'Tribes: Vengeance' - v1.2 Patch Delayed

Back in November, Vivendi's community liaison Guy Welch revealed that a new v1.2 update patch for Irrationals multiplayer shooter Tribes: Vengeance was being tested, and would be released in December 2004. Meanwhile, it's more than a month later, and still no T:V patch. Today, Welch has responded to the community giving a rather cryptic reason as to why, "The patch has been delayed from our initial December release date due to an outstanding agreement between two third parties. They need to come to terms before we can proceed." Speculation has it that there is an argument between Punkbuster and Irrational Games.

'Tribes: Vengeance' - v1.2 Patch Coming in December

Vivendi's community liaison Guy Welch has put up a post on the TribalWar forums revealing that a new v1.2 update patch for Irrationals multiplayer shooter Tribes: Vengeance is currently being tested, and will be released in December. " The update will include fixes to known map "holes," implementation of PunkBuster Online Countermeasures and several other fixes." Of course we will have it available on our fileserver network as soon as its released.

Vivendi has released a beta version of the development kit for Irrational Games' sci-fi FPS Tribes: Vengeance. Included in this kit is source code that can be used to compile of all of the scripts used in Tribes: Vengeance. Vivendi Launches 'Tribes: Vengeance' 'Skinning' Competition

Vivendi Universal Games, in cooperation with Internet community site Tribalwar.com, announced today a contest to create alternative “skins” for use within Tribes: Vengeance. The competition, which starts immediately, will end on July 9th when a panel of judges from Vivendi Universal Games, Irrational Games, and Tribalwar.com will select the best skin and award its creator a high-end graphics card from ATI Technologies and an in-game credit.

'Tribes: Vengeance' Beta Sign-Ups Open

Vivendi Universal Games announced today that it is currently taking applications for the Tribes: Vengeance beta testing program, which will begin June 14th and run for several months. The closed beta program will begin with a very limited group but expand weekly until later this Summer when the public will be invited to partake in the testing. Tribes: Vengeance will ship to retail stores worldwide in October 2004.
