Yesterday we reported that a page on Rockstar's support site dedicated to PS3 overheating issues mysteriously disappeared. The Q&A in question flatout blamed the security checks in the new v3.61 firmware for the problem, saying it had already received multiple complaints. Shortly there after the page was pulled, and now both Rockstar and Sony have issued a joint statement stating the exact opposite.

One of most features the PS3 community has been requested for, quite a while, is cross game chat, and while the last few firmware updates have been rather limited in new features, that might change shortly if we may believe Naughty Dog. On the official PlayStation forum, a Naughty Dog developer 'ReklissAbandon'
let it slip that "Not to mention that the next PS3 firmware update is going to allow cross game chat." Sony will probably not be too happy about the "leak" of that information, but the fans will rejoice.

Last night Microsoft revealed that it would be pushing live a minor firmware update for the Xbox 360, which in the meantime is already available for download. There are no new features or changes in this update however, it is merely in preparation for additional system enhancements (Facebook/Twitter/Last.FM) that will arrive later this year.
