Former Majesco Santa Monica artist Valerie Schoman revealed that Majesco has decided to shut down the Los Angeles, California-based studio. Get ready to ditch the workout and join the Zumba movement as Majesco has teamed up with Zumba Fitness to bring the workout experience to video games.

Majesco released its financial results for the Q2 2009, revealing that its net revenues increased 60.8% to $20.5 million versus $12.8 million in 2008, however it also shows an operating loss of $0.6 million, compared to a $0.3 million loss last year.

Gauntlet is a modern reworking of the classic fantasy hack and slash arcade game. Choose from the four heroes (Elf, Warrior, Wizard and Valkyrie) each with their own strengths, weaknesses and special abilities. Slash your way through demonic foes and gain up to four power move abilities to aid you in your battle against evil. Originally scheduled for release in Oct. 2008 by Eidos, the game hasn't been heard of in a year, but according to the ESRB, it is now planned for Dec. 2009 by Majesco.

In the new My Hero adventure simulation franchise, players experience firsthand the heroic acts of the role models they look up to - a daring astronaut, a courageous firefighter, and a life-saving doctor - by completing a variety of challenging missions relating to each profession.

Majesco announced details of its expanded European operation, which has been established to provide direct routes to retail within the UK. Based in Bristol, Majesco Europe will oversee the marketing, distribution and sales of a product catalog with mainstream titles on handheld and consoles, with its first games due to launch in May 2009.

Majesco announced an all-new branding initiative that unifies motion based Wii games under the banner label - Go Play. The first title in the line is Go Play Lumberjax this spring, followed by Go Play City Sports and Go Play Circus Star later this year.

Majesco signed an agreement with Scholastic Interactive to distribute the Group's console and handheld titles in North and South America, including Goosebumps HorrorLand (NDS/PS2/Wii) and Ultimate I SPY (Wii), as well as catalog titles I SPY Fun House and Animal Genius for NDS.

Majesco revealed its product lineup for the 2008 Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in Los Angeles from July 15th - 17th at booths #421 and 423 featuring Wii and NDS games that offer fun for the entire family such as Cooking Mama, Marker Man, AWAY Shuffle Dungeon and several others.

Players take control of the young hero Sword, the sole resident left of the once booming Webb Village, who must rescue as many kidnapped townsfolk as possible from a mysterious unknown that has been slowly spiriting them away. AWAY Shuffle Dungeon includes creative contributions from RPG creator Hironobu Sakaguchi, character designer Naoto Oshima and composer Nobuo Uematsu.
