It all started when the ESA sent out invites to the press for its E3 Media & Business Summit 2008, revealing an exhibitors list that lacked quite a few names. So far, Activision Blizzard is not attending (nor renewing its ESA membership), as well as NCSoft, Foundation 9, and Her Interactive. In the meantime, a few others who were not on the initial participants list have confirmed their participation (Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, Bethesda), while id Software is still uncertain. Today, we can confirm that Atlus will not be present, but Codemasters, D3 Publisher, Majesco, Rebellion, Southpeak and Square Enix will be present.

Majesco announced a partnership with Codemasters to distribute a number of new titles to PAL territories, including: Nanostray 2, Toy Shop, Cake Mania 2 and Nancy Drew: The Mystery of the Clue Bender Society (NDS), and Wild Earth: African Safari, Our House and Cake Mania (Wii) along with several unannounced games for both platforms.

After being sued, reorganizing, making modest progress, and facing financial trouble, it seems the Majesco roller coaster continues its ride as NASDAQ issued its second notification stating the company has not met the $35 million market value of listed securities, and therefore, its common stock is subject to delisting, again.

Majesco reported its 3rd quarter financial results and indications are that it might be on the road to recovery. Net revenues are up from 2005's $4.6mil to $12.6 mil, while gross profit went from a $16.2 mil loss to $4.4 million profit. At the same token Majesco also revealed that it is working on Bust-A-Move Revolution for the Wii.

Majesco announced financial results for its second quarter ended April 30, 2006, and while there was a drop in net revenues (from $50.6 to $35.6 million), gross profit (from $8.4 to $3.9 million) and, these lower numbers are mainly due to the shift in policy. Operating income rose (from $821,000 to $1.4 million) mainly due to the sale of the rights and obligations of Teen Titans.

Shareholders Suing Majesco

In a filing with the SEC, it was revealed that the Trinad Group wants to buy more shares in Majesco, and requests that two of its officers (Jessie and Joey Sutton) immediately resign or be removed from office. The filing also mentions that the Trinad Group is filing a lawsuit against the company and several current and former directors and officers for breaching their fiduciary duties while managing business affairs, engaged in self-dealing transactions to further their personal interests, usurped corporate opportunities, mismanaged and wasted the company's assets and used poor judgment in appointing certain officers.
Majesco Cutting Staff, Publishing and Cancels Titles

2005 has not been a very good year for Majesco, after it earlier sold off Ghost Rider and The Darkness, its year-end results revealed all is not well. Across the board revenue, sales and income are all turning a loss, compared to profits last year. As a result Majesco announced it cut 20% of its workforce and is abandoning major publishing in favor of value and handheld video games. In its subsequent conference call it was also revealed that high profile titles such as Terminal Reality's Demonik and Taxi Driver, based on Martin Scorsese's cult film, have been cancelled.

Majesco today announced that it has sold all of its The Darkness and GhostRider rights and obligations to a 3rd party publisher for which Majesco received $8.0 million, allowing it to reduce its financial obligations and improve its capital structure. This sale affords Majesco added flexibility with which to pursue additional opportunities and execute initiatives related to its core business. The 3rd party publisher will re-announce the titles at a later date.

THQ Europe and Majesco today announced an international sales and distribution agreement.
