To call Civilization console-agnostic would be a misnomer. In actuality, it's just been a long damn time since Sid Meier's turn-based world-beating sim last made a console appearance. Almost a decade, in fact — Civilization II for PSone popped up in 1998 (following the original Civilization for Super Nintendo in 1994), and since then, the closest the series has come to escaping the clutches of computer gaming is an N-Gage version that quietly shipped early last year.

Civilization IV website has been updated with word on the imminent patch for Firaxis latest strategy title. "Some of the highlights include multiple AI improvements and tweaks, worker behavior tweaks, MANY game play improvements (ex Animal Husbandry reveals horses), promotion tweaks, a softer pillage sound (requested by many, many people), fixed diplomatic exploits (gold for gold, peace treaty exploit), multiplayer tweaks (Hot seat, Lobby, etc.), memory, caching and performance improvements, etc. There were also a number of video card specific fixes." We will of course have the patch on
our fileserver network as soon as its released.

2K Games informed us that due to a assembly error French tech tree posters have snuck into some of the North American Civilization IV boxes. If you are only of the unlucky owners of such a game, and ne parlez pas frenchie, you do not have to return your game to the store but instead you can
go online and fill out a form to get an English version sent your way, for free of course. If you are too antsy to wait for it, 2K Games has also made a downloadable .pdf version available so you can be on your merry way until the mailman brings you the proper poster.
