SCEI has confirmed that it will not make the March launch date on time, and could not provide a new date, while Sony Europe stated that while the European version has yet to be given a fixed date, it does not affect its schedule.

Unfortunately those people may be in for a long wait as Polyphony Digital's Yamauchi
revealed that the team is currently focusing on adding content to GT 5 Prologue (such as vehicle damage) and there is no development being done on GT 5 until 2009, possibly 2010.

While GT 5 Prologue is already available in Europe, it will not show up in stores on Blu-ray, or downloadable on PSN until April 15. Even further out is the actual full GT5 game, which according to SCEA associate producer Chris Hinojosa-Miranda is still about a year away. While the franchise is unlikely to appear on any non-Sony consoles, Polyphony Digital's Kazunori Yamauchi revealed
in an interview with Austrian newspaper Der Standard that Gran Turismo 5 might make an appearance on the PC.
