'Battlefield 2' Booster Packs Announced

The Battlefield 2 expansion pack planned to be launched during spring 2006 is now replaced by two booster packs. The change means slightly lower project revenues during the fourth quarter 2005 than during the third, due to a lower development budget. The anticipation though is that this will be compensated by higher royalty revenues during the first six month 2006.

EA's Armando "Aj" Marini gives more details about the upcoming Battlefield 2 v1.2 patch, and he says "this update has some significant improvements that everyone will appreciate." So far the partial fix list seems to indicate several weapon tweaks, especially making the air assets less powerful, and plugging a few exploits.

A Battlefield 2 community update reveals that EA/DICE are keeping up the BF2 patch works. "We wanted to let you know that we're already hard at work on a post 1.12 update. While we can't go into details about it, yet, rest assured that we're checking the forums, listening to our customer support teams and working hard on the features that YOU'VE asked for. As soon as we can give more concrete details, we will. Just know that we're all 100% into making Battlefield 2 the very best that it can be."
