interview with eWeek, Microsoft's Entertainment and Devices Division President Robbie Bach predicted that the Xbox will become profitable during the course of 2008, "It's a business that will be profitable next year—we'll make money next year and that will be the first time, which is pretty exciting." UK's BBFC has granted Eidos' Reservoir Dogs an 18+ rating (equivalent of the ESRB's M Rating), but the the Association of Chief Police Officers has
voiced its total disapproval of the game, due to its violent emotions, especially against members of the police service, and that it encourages to torture, shoot and execute policemen. Earlier this year New Zealand's Office of Film and Literature Classification banned the game because it "encourages the player to perform – and showcases in slow motion – the most extreme forms of violence and brutality for the purpose of entertainment."

American Technology Research analyst Paul-Jon McNealy said he believed Microsoft had 300,000 to 400,000 units for the launch in North America, around 300,000 for the European launch and 100,000 for Japan. He expects Microsoft to ship another 300,000 units in the next week in North America, which would put the total at about 1 million units.
