Entertainment software publisher NovaLogic Ltd. today announced plans to release an open multiplayer beta test for the eagerly awaited title Delta Force - Black Hawk Down. The beta test will be one multiplayer level and is scheduled for release at the beginning of August 2002.

Blues just reports thats there is a new 'Windows Media Player' 10.6MB movie avaliable for download from NovaLogic's upcoming tactical first-person shooter game, Delta Force: Black Hawk Down. The movie runs for 2 minutes, showing some gameplay.

The game fiction is based on missions from Operation Enduring Freedom. Take control as 1 of 10 different Special Forces soldiers over 25 intense and varied missions set in Afghanistan. Only the best of the best are selected to become members of the 2/75th RANGER, SEAL Team 6, CIA Spec Ops, the UK SAS 22 Regiment, SFOD-SF Viper Team (Green Berets), Australian SASR, Canadian JTF-2, Marine Force Recon, USAF CSAR (Air Force Para rescue) and of course SFOD-DELTA!

Tiscali Games has posted a new movie of Delta Force: Black Hawn Down, showing the upcoming Somalia-based tactical shooter by NovaLogic in motion. The movie comes as a 2.0 MB download in DivX format, and sports about half a minute of gameplay footage (Thanks Blues).

Coming soon "according to Reuters": a video game based on the botched 1993 raid in Somalia now known as "Black Hawk Down" and etched in American memory after two dead U.S. soldiers were dragged through the streets of Mogadishu. The company producing the game, Calabasas, California-based NovaLogic, said the game was patriotic, intended in part to educate the public about the U.S. mission in Somalia. But some critics question that aim and whether the game risks blurring the line between history and entertainment and altering perceptions about the bloodiest firefight in U.S. military history since Vietnam.
