THQ has now released a new patch for Relic's 3D RTS Dawn Of War/Winter Assault. This update brings your retail game to v1.50 and mainly seems to add unit balancing, interface enhancements, some optimizations and bug fixes. Requires the previous v1.41 patch to be installed (

Ubisoft today released its 2005-2006 annual results for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2006. At €547M, sales were up 3% from the previous fiscal year. Profits, however, declined over 50%, from €24.7M to €11.9M, due to research and development for next-gen titles and increased marketing costs during the console transition. The initial investment has already begun to pay off, as next-gen titles composed almost 30% of their sales for the fiscal year.

Replacing the earlier Russian demo, this version features 3 missions, 3 playable classes, all spells for first five levels, sixteen enemies of the three main classes including the boss at the end.

According to the
New York Daily News, Roger Hill, who played a big-time gang leader in the 1979 cult movie, "The Warriors," filed suit yesterday, claiming that Take-Two does not have the rights to use his likeness in the video game of the same name. Hill's demands include $250,000 and a court order preventing further use of his likeness.

Valve announced a Day of Defeat: Source Summer 2006 update featuring a free map pack, a new gameplay style, Detonation, two brand new missions (Jagd, Colmar). On top of that, it will also add new gameplay enhancements such as spawn clip adjustments, improved hit location detection, and weapon balancing. The DoD: Source Summer 2006 update is scheduled for release on June 28.

After skipping a week, 3D Realms is back on track with their latest installment in the
weekly Prey update in which, Human Head Studios' Chris Rhinehart basically gives a little recap of the past 4-5 years since they signed the game and got started working wit hthe DOOM 3 engine. Earlier today there was a congressional hearing discussing video games, its content and laws to prevent minors from purchasing mature content. The Federal Trade Commission said it supports the video game industry's self-regulation of violent content but also stated an undercover sting operation revealed too many U.S. children (43%, down from 69% in 2003) are still able to buy Mature-rated games in stores.
