Square Enix announced today that it will launch the "Return Home to Vana'dielĀ®" campaign for Final Fantasy XI beginning Thursday, April 14. For a limited time, registration codes will be issued free of charge to allow players to come back to PlayOnline, play Final Fantasy XI, and even recover and play their previous Final Fantasy XI characters.

The U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California entered judgment in Immersion's favor in its patent infringement suit against Sony. The Court's judgment awarded Immersion $90.7 million in past damages and interest and also ordered Sony to halt U.S. sales of its PlayStation game consoles, although the judge immediately put her ruling on hold while the appeal is pending.

Eidos is preparing to announce the newest title in the Tomb Raider franchise is the next few days, as it has just put up a teaser page on
the official Tombraider website, saying an announcement is due soon. The website header reveals a possible 'Tomb Raider Legends' name, and the background picture hints at a possible Aztec or Egyptian setting, but thats pure speculation Back in 2004, developer Crystal Dynamicsm who just finished "Project Snowblind," took over the project from Crystal Dynamics and promises to bring the new Lara Croft game back to its roots, and more in line with Ubisoft's Prince of Persia.

Blizzard has released yet another new Warcraft III map, this time called "Full Scale Assult"... Map info: "In these eternally contested lands, war comes and goes leaving behind death and glory. Strike strategically and fight valiantly till your foes fall and you can hear the snowflakes land on the dead. Victory, at last." This is a large sized map and the suggested no. of players is 3v3 or 4v4. It is based on the "Lordaeron Winter " tileset.

Vavle announced that next week they will begin beta testing the new Valve Anti-Cheat system, and it will be logging cheating violations into our database to make sure it's ready for general release. If you have any cheats for multiplayer games installed on your computer, now would be a good time to uninstall and stop using them. When a cheat infraction is detected, the offender will be permanently banned from playing on secure servers. Valve has also released a small Steam update which Fixes a crash when turning on the budget panel in Counter-Strike: Source, and fixed exploit that would allow clients to spawn large numbers of temporary entities on clients, causing a crash. As usual, restarting Steam auto updates everything.

Microsoft Game Studios has announced a June 28 release date for the highly anticipated Halo 2 Multiplayer Map Pack. The multiplayer expansion pack contains nine new multiplayer maps to push gamers' skills to their limits. The retail package also contains two new videos: an animated side-story from the single-player story in New Mombasa and a mini-documentary that includes interviews with the map designers, combat strategies and fly-throughs of the new maps.
