CDV Software Entertainment today announced that the historical real-time strategy game "Cossacks: Back to war" is now available in stores. "Cossacks: Back to War" includes all of the strategic power and pageantry of the original real-time strategy bestseller "Cossacks: European Wars" as well as the first expansion pack "Cossacks: The Art of War," and adds two new playable nations - Switzerland and Hungary.

VE3D reports that the “booster pack” to
Anarchy Online is on it’s way to stores. Among the new features included in the booster are the ability to control land, new sounds, and new graphical updates. A downloadable version may become available at a later date. Funcom stated it has planned a series of additional 'booster packs.' "Anarchy Online is the first science fiction-based massively multiplayer online roleplaying game (Sci-fi MMORPG)."

Carbon 6 has announced its first project 'American McGee's Oz'.. American McGee puts his signature touch on another classic children's tale. This time the Lands of Oz are visited in a prequel adventure to the original books that will take you on a colorful journey through a unique world filled with dozens of interesting characters and stories. "Oz offers a diverse world and large range of characters to explore and meet." said American from his Hollywood design studio, "I'm really excited to be working with such rich material and amazing technology." Oz is being produced for the Microsoft Xbox and PC and is scheduled for release some time in 2004. The Oz soundtrack is being produced by Media Ventures. A line of Oz toys will be hitting store shelves soon. A book and film deal are to be announced.

The Register report that after the launch of Microsoft's new multiplayer game - Asheron's Call 2 Fallen Kings - in the US and Canada has been mired in controversy after the giant software company admitted that the game is only available to subscribers in nine countries. Thousands of people around the world currently play Asheron's Call 1, an online role-playing game where players inhabit a 3D fantasy world. And many of this hardcore group of gamers have pre-ordered copies of the new game from Web sites outside of their own country. Now, many are up in arms after the launch of the latest much-anticipated game in North America, the game's producer has admitted that it cocked-up.

Capcom Entertainment announced a multi-million dollar national marketing campaign to support the recent release of Resident Evil 0, exclusively for the Nintendo GameCube.
