MGS4: Guns of the Patriots is set in a war-torn future where huge conglomerates, including those in the Middle East and South America, fight for supremacy using armies of hand-picked mercenaries. In his latest podcast Kojima Productions revealed that starting today it is developing the English Metal Gear Solid 4 : Guns of the Patriots demo, although no time frame for its release was mentioned.

Konami's head of European and North American operations Kazumi Kitaue says he doubts the PS3 price drop will have a sufficient impact on sales, and doubts Sony can win back its lost support. In a
Reuters interview Kitaue states that, due to the smaller install base and sluggish sales, Konami may need to look beyond the PlayStation format for its blockbuster fighting game Metal Gear Solid: Guns of the Patriots which is currently scheduled for March 2008.

MGS4: Guns of the Patriots marks the next-gen debut of Hideo Kojima's tactical espionage action series with new gameplay features, spectacular graphics and the return of several characters from the series. Swedish print magazine Super Play claims to have received confirmation from Konami revealing MGS 4 is coming to X360. Scheduled for late 2008, it will include extra material such as VR missions and other bonus features.

Columbia Pictures is in negotiations to acquire the rights to adapt the best-selling video game "Metal Gear Solid." The studio plans to turn the PlayStation game series from Konami into a character-driven futuristic spy thriller. The game centers on Solid Snake, a Special Forces operative called out of retirement for one last mission. With terrorists threatening a nuclear facility in Alaska, Snake must penetrate their defenses and neutralize the threat.

Sony Pictures Entertainment Vice Chairman Yair Landau, who revealed that SPE is currently working on a Metal Gear Solid action picture, a rumor started by Studio Kojima during last year's E3. Landau also mentioned that they are working with one of his favorite producers on an idea for an EverQuest movie, but declined to give a name.

The latest Famitsu issue has the first, minor, details on the new Metal Gear digital comic for the PSP. Based on MGS 2: Sons of Liberty, Konami's Hideo Kojima only mentioned that artwork will be featuring artwork from Ashley Wood and it will include Raiden, the main character from MGS2: SoL, as well as Snake. No official name, or planned release date was mentioned...
