S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl brings to life the actual Chernobyl terrain in the year 2012 - six years after a mysterious second explosion rocks the landscape. As a "stalker" exploring the vast "Exclusion Zone" to procure artifacts for the black market, players must survive mutant creatures, dangerous anomalous areas, competing "stalkers" and a military charged with quarantining the 30 square kilometer area.

THQ today announced it has acquired the worldwide publishing rights to the highly anticipated "S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Oblivion Lost" (working title). Developed exclusively for PC by Ukraine-based GSC Game World, "S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Oblivion Lost" is the first game to utilize GSC Game World's proprietary X-Ray engine that allows for massive indoor/outdoor environments, real-time physics and the capability to push more than one million polygons per frame at 60 frames per second. "S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Oblivion Lost" provides players with an intense first person action experience that incorporates elements of survival horror and role-playing while taking place in the forbidden zone of the Chernobyl nuclear facility. GSC World released some more info on their upcoming game "S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Oblivion Lost".
Go check it out. They give more details about the gameplay, different character and story behind the title ( the game is situated in and based on Chernobyl ). Computer game development is no longer a safe business today. GSC team had to set off for the Chernobyl zone in search of radioactive artefacts and scenario materials for S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Oblivion Lost.
GCS updated their website, unveils the project and published a lion's share of materials about S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: photos and materials from Chernobyl Zone, game concept, know-how, gameplay details, screenshots and sketches.
