The 3DO Company today announced the development of the first Sarge’s Heroes title for the Nintendo GameCube, Army Men: Sarge’s War. The Sarge’s Heroes games were some of the most successful third-party titles for the Nintendo 64, having sold over a million units between the two games. The Army Men: Sarge’s War game is planned to ship in Spring 2003.

Titus Interactive’s stunning Game Cube conversion of Top Gun: Combat Zones, its PlayStation 2 smash, will now take off in September 2002. THQ Inc. Chief Executive Brian Farrell said on Friday cuts in the price of PlayStation, Xbox and GameCube consoles have spurred sales of its video games, and should keep demand vibrant throughout the year. "For product that was on shelf as of May 1 ... there has been about a 20 percent lift," Farrell said in an interview with Reuters. THQ's games include "Tetris," "Red Faction" and titles related to characters from the "Nickelodeon" television network and World Wrestling Entertainment Inc.

Launched across Europe on May 3rd, NINTENDO GAMECUBE units have barely had time to rest on shelves as a phenomenal 400,000 units were snapped up in launch week alone - that's 80% of the consoles that were in stores across Europe for launch. Many stores sold out during launch week, however more NINTENDO GAMECUBE units are being delivered daily from warehouses to replenish stocks in store, and another 500,000 are being shipped across Europe over the next seven weeks.
