In GoldenEye 2, players will explore the dark side of the Bond underworld, playing an agent who was a candidate for 00 status before being dismissed from MI6 for reckless brutality. Players will join ranks with the legendary super-villain Auric Goldfinger, fighting for control of the world's greatest criminal organization. The game is under development at EA Los Angeles for multiple console platforms, scheduled for release this holiday season under the EA GAMES brand. More details will be forthcoming at a later date.

Players will be able to take the reins of their preferred team through European and World Championships. Over 15,000 real players are included within the game. Managers can buy and sell players, train their squads and develop match tactics - with matches portrayed in real-time through a detailed 3D engine. Every bone-crunching tackle, every eye-gouging scrum will be present in glorious 3D, with managers having to adjust their tactics as the games progress in order to secure victory. Multiplayer modes allow players to pit their teams against each other in individual games or leagues - with an Internet ladder ranking the world's greatest rugby managers.

The Beyond Divinity demo is scheduled for release online on march 3rd and will be simultaneously released in French, German and English. The demo contains the beginning of the first act of Beyond Divinity and offers players a first sampling of all the changes that were made to the Divinity engine. Of course we will have it available on our fileservers as soon as its released.

Got Game Entertainment today announced a North American publishing deal for "The Arrangement", a first person point and click adventure game for the PC brimming with challenging puzzles, compelling story, loads of exploration, and hours of fun and rewarding gameplay. "The Arrangement" is scheduled for release as a budget title in Q2 2004 for $19.99 (USD).

While we already revealed this last week, Game Developer Critical Mass Interactive today officially announced that it has acquired the interactive game rights to SWORD OF DRACULA, a military horror project based on the hit Image Comics series by creator Jason Henderson. CMI, which has been a part of major releases like the 2003 "Favorite Video Game" Nickelodeon Kids Choice Award winner "SpongeBob SquarePants: Revenge of the Flying Dutchman" for PlayStation2 and GameCube, and Henderson plan to have a demo of the commandos-versus-vampires first person shooter game ready for the March 2004 Game Developers Conference in San Jose.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic received a prestigious BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) award last night in London. The award, the British equivalent to the Oscars, named Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic as the Xbox Game of the Year for 2003. In the U.S., Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic was recently announced as a finalist in 10 categories in the 7th Annual Interactive Achievement Awards, with nominations including "Overall Game of the Year" and "Outstanding Achievement/Innovation in Computer Gaming."

Rival Interactive is creating a high-end, 3D, first person shooter game based on homeland defense called “Prism: Black Shield” for the Army National Guard (ARNG). The ARNG seeks to create a commercial quality game that is both entertaining and graphically rich. The game will be distributed as a recruitment tool and for increasing the awareness of the Army National Guard. In the game, players will use futuristic US military weapons, equipment and technology as part of a secret new team to combat terrorists on US soil. PlayStation today announced a unique partnership with International Sports Multimedia (ISM), exclusive licensee of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) for Interactive Entertainment software, to develop a PlayStation 2 game based on the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. Scheduled for release in July 2004 just prior to the start of the next Olympic Games in August, Athens 2004, The Official Videogame of the Olympic Games will be the only official licensed videogame product of the IOC on PlayStation 2.

JoWooD's Preliminary Financial Results discloses several, so far unannounced, plans for various addons and sequels to, some currently still in development, new titles. The schedule includes another derivative of the highly successful Gothic series as well as Add-ons for the titles SpellForce, Soldner and Wildlife Park. The portfolio will also include a new sequel to the top-selling Giant series and console versions of Aquanox and Neighbours from Hell (incl.a sequel). Some further titles will be Pillage, Gorky Zero and a title based on a motion picture IP. JoWooD boasts an impressive line-up for 2005. Among 2005’s key titles will be Soldner II, SpellForce II, The Guild II, Star Gate SG1, another Giant title and a new sequel to the Gothic series.

Electronic Arts today announced that it has signed a publishing agreement with Black Hole Games, a development studio launched by Cinergi Interactive, a subsidiary of the award-winning motion picture production company Cinergi Pictures Entertainment. The new PC title, Armies of Exigo (*working title) is a grand scale fantasy real-time strategy (RTS) that leverages the studio's cinematic expertise and ability to deliver captivating entertainment to a worldwide audience. Armies of Exigo is expected to ship in Fall 2004.
