From Moscow to Jerusalem to New York, the action-packed co-op campaign of Saber’s World War Z unleashes hundreds of fast-moving, bloodthirsty zombies at a time on players in a nail-biting action experience around the world
Use traps, barriers and the environment strategically to slow your undead enemies down, then unleash a storm of firepower from all directions with a wide range of heavy-hitting weapons and explosives.
You’ll face off against hundreds of different types of zekes on screen at a time, rushing as a pack to overwhelm your defenses. Dynamic swarm simulation, a smart intensity director, diverse zombie mechanics, and an advanced gore system all combine for the ultimate zombie shooter experience.
Outlive the dead through each group of survivors’ unique storylines, as they run from and battle massive hordes of zombies powered by Saber’s advanced Swarm Engine. Survive a series of heart-pounding co-operative campaigns across a series of international locations, including Moscow, Jerusalem and New York. The relentless swarms act as real crowds, as zombies trip over obstacles, squeeze through tight spaces, and climb on top of each other to reach players no matter where they try to hide.
Play with friends or on your own with AI teammates to survive against these relentless swarms of undead.
Kicking off World War Z’s second season of free content, the Kill It With Fire update features two challenging new PvE missions: “Dead in the Water,” in which your survivors must execute a new escape plan after being stranded on New York’s Hudson River, and “Resurrection,” which will take your team deep into the dark tunnels below Moscow.
The patch also includes a new flamethrower weapon, Halloween trinket, and the ability to prestige rank for special rewards.
Fans can expect a huge variety of new goodies in the coming months, including:
- The highly anticipated introduction of a wave-based horde mode – Horde Mode Z
- A dangerous new Special Zombie type
- PvE crossplay support
- The ability to prestige rank up for new weapon skins and perks
- A fiery new weapon and new cosmetic items
World War Z’s first season of free content included the Weekly Challenge mode, “The Undead Sea” Tokyo mission, and the six-skulls extreme difficulty setting, as well as several other treats for players.
Saber has also introduced the World War Z Season Pass – available now on Xbox One, and PS4 in the SIEA region— bundling together all of Season 1 and 2’s current and upcoming DLC for 50% off the cost of all items purchased separately. The World War Z Season Pass includes:
- The previously released Lobo and Biohazard DLC packs, available now.
- A new set-piece episode and location featuring three PvE missions (expected spring 2020)
- Several new weapon and character packs throughout the coming months
Each of World War Z’s six playable classes comes loaded with several unique perks, but here’s a taste of what’s in store for the undead hordes when you play:
- Gunslinger – For those who skip the questions and shoot first, the Gunslinger is loaded with an arsenal of weapon damage and ammo-boosting perks to mow down the dead.
- Hellraiser – Enough explosives can solve any problem! Hellraisers come armed with C4 and other tools for effective crowd control.
- Slasher – For warriors with a sense of elegance, the best way to kill is with your trusty blade. Slashers have perks that increase melee damage and effectiveness while their armed tasers deliver electrifying results.
- Medic – Sometimes the best way to fight the undead is keeping your teammates from becoming one of them. Armed with a Stim Pistol, Medics can heal fellow survivors from a distance and help keep the chaos under control.
- Fixer – When versatility in any situation is the highest priority, the Fixer is there for you, starting out with an explosive ammo case and several teammate ammo-restoring perks.
- Exterminator – Fire is the answer! Armed with Molotov cocktails and increased fire damage, the Exterminator just wants to watch the undead burn.
World War Z is currently available for PS4, Xbox One and PC via the Epic Games store.
