'Monster Crown' Delayed On PS4 And Xbox One Until Further Notice

by Rainier on Oct. 26, 2021 @ 3:03 p.m. PDT

Monster Crown is a dark monster catching game with true crossbreeds, featuring a brand new dynamic breeding system and a deep story in a world filled to the brim with optional content.

In Monster Crown, players can catch and tame all sorts of monsters and even breed new species with them. Breeding or fusing monsters in Monster Crown creates brand new species that can be named by the player. These crossbreeds are truly a mix of both parents in every way.

20 years ago, Crown Island was ruled by the sadistic, monstrous Philosopher Kings who used dark magic to inflict suffering and exert their tyranny. A group of young people rose up, overthrowing the Philosopher Kings and bringing peace back to Crown Island. Now, a dangerous young woman is trying to get her hands on the Philosopher Kings’ power.

Unravel Crown Island’s dark, cruel story as you create your own monster legacy. With a history of sadistic rulers and heroic saviors, the island faces another threat in the form of a malicious young woman seeking power. It’s up to you and the monsters you make pacts with to prevent the return of tyranny. Will your decisions make you a savior, or a dark messiah?

It is up to the player to travel across Crown Island with their monster companions to put an end to the dark, underground plot.

Although Monster Crown was originally scheduled to launch on November 2nd for PS4 and Xbox One, SOEDESCO and developer Studio Aurum confirm today that the game will launch later than expected, while the actual release date is still to be determined.

The physical ESRB edition for Nintendo Switch is still set to come out on November 2nd.

Key Features:

  • Make pacts with monsters to receive their protection in return for shelter
  • Breed and fuse over 200 base monsters to create your own new species
  • Travel across Crown Island with your monster allies to uncover a dark world.
  • Make a pivotal decision that will drastically change the ending and post-game.
  • Play online to battle and trade, and have your new species reach across the globe.

Currently available for Nintendo Switch and PC (Steam), Monster Crown is coming to PS4 and Xbox One at a later time.
