Dovetail Games are thrilled to announce their new partnership with B.A.S.S., the worldwide authority on bass fishing, to create the biggest bass fishing video game ever made, Bassmaster Fishing 2022.
Scott Martin, professional angler and host of ‘The Scott Martin Challenge,’ is working closely with Dovetail Games to help create this exciting new simulation title and will be featured prominently throughout the game and its career modes. Martin’s story of joining the B.A.S.S. tour and fulfilling his family’s legacy is well known in the fishing world and soon players will be able to see if they have what it takes to become a bass master.
More information about the new technology and features being added to Bassmaster Fishing 2022 to enhance immersion and deliver an authentic angling experience will be announced in the coming months.
Developer Dovetail Games the first details on the career mode included in Bassmaster Fishing 2022.
Becoming the Bassmaster Classic Champion is about more than just catching bass – it’s about passion, pride, and skill. To be the best, anglers will need to know their way around their equipment, trust their instincts, and know when to go big. In Bassmaster Fishing 2022, players will make a name for themselves by climbing the ranks and becoming a master of the water. Taking the real-life progression of professional anglers and recreating it in-game, bass fishing careers will begin in the College Series before moving onto the Bassmaster Opens. If players have the skills to win in the Open events, they’ll be invited to the Elite Series to try and gain enough qualifying points to go to the coveted Bassmaster Classic. Anglers will need to bring their A-game if they want to be lifting that iconic Bassmaster Classic trophy!
Dovetail Games is not only bringing Bassmaster Fishing 2022 to screens by celebrating the best anglers in the business and providing an authentic bass fishing experience for all, but also by investing in the next generation of talented bass anglers aspiring to be the next Bassmaster Champions.
"These events provide opportunities for anglers of all ages and backgrounds that might have otherwise just kept to bass fishing as a hobby; you never know who the next back-to-back Bassmaster Classic winner might be,” said Hank Cherry, professional angler and back-to-back Bassmaster Classic winner, “It’s great to see Dovetail Games bringing a career mode to Bassmaster Fishing 2022 so that more people can experience what it’s like to be a professional angler.”
Dovetail Games will also be including the name of the College Bracket winner into Bassmaster Fishing 2022 as a competitor angler. These grass-roots events are where the next great champions grow, and back-to-back Bassmaster Champion Hank Cherry is no better example of how this works. As well as featuring heavily within Bassmaster Fishing 2022, he knows more than anyone the importance of these Bassmaster events.
The sponsorship doesn’t stop there though - Dovetail Games will sponsor two more events before the end of 2021 – the High School Combine on Oct. 15-17 on Wheeler Lake in Decatur, Alabama, and the Bassmaster Opens at Grand Lake Oklahoma on Oct. 21-23.
Dovetail Games also revealed their multiplayer plans for Bassmaster Fishing 2022.
Bassmaster Fishing 2022 brings angling aficionados together no matter what mode they play or what platform they play on, with full support for multiplayer Cross-Play across all platforms so anglers can compete against each other, or relax together. Enjoy a lazy Sunday afternoon fishing the Sabine River or on the relaxing waters of Chickamauga Lake with friends in a non-competitive environment, exploring the waters for the ideal fishing spots, enjoying the scenery while waiting for a bite on the line, or showing off custom characters and their unique outfits.
‘Bassmaster Royale’ is the new, adrenaline pumping mode coming to the fishing space for the first time, challenging players to find hot spots and catch more fish than other anglers. Players will need to stay above the ‘cut line’, a moving target setting a minimum combined weight of all fish caught to remain in the competition, to avoid being eliminated during the four culling events that take place throughout the match. Players will need to keep their eyes on the leaderboards to avoid being culled if their hauls don’t meet the ‘cut line’ as the match progresses.
Anglers will begin their competitions in one of three different spots, where they’ll need to quickly race to their favorite fishing hot spot to start hooking bass while keeping an eye out for other anglers trying to muscle in on their territory. Moving locations can waste precious time, but can pay dividends if other anglers are packed closely together and competing for the same bass. Those who don’t make the cut during culling events will be eliminated and will have to try their luck again, while the angler with the highest combined weight of their catch at the end of the four culling events is declared the Bassmaster Royale Champion!
Post launch, the Dovetail Games team has exciting plans to bring new modes to multiplayer so players can fish against others to be the Bassmaster Classic champion online, or where they can become the angler of the month in the global Dovetail Fishing League! More information about post launch multiplayer plans will be revealed later this year.
Bassmaster Fishing 2022 is coming to PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC (Steam) on October 28, 2021 for $39.99/ €34.99 / £29.99.
