'Halo' TV Series Reveals More Story Details In Latest Trailer, Watchable With Xbox Game Pass Ultimate - Trailer

by Rainier on March 14, 2022 @ 4:17 p.m. PDT

Based on the video game franchise, the Halo TV series has Master Chief facing off against aliens threatening human existence in an epic 26th-century showdown.

Season 1 of the upcoming series featuring Pablo Schreiber as our hero the Master Chief Spartan-117, Natascha McElhone as Dr. Halsey, and Jen Taylor as Cortana is just the beginning.

In its adaptation for Paramount+, Halo will take place in the universe that first debuted in 2001 with the launch of Xbox’s first “Halo” game. Dramatizing an epic 26th-century conflict between humanity and an alien threat known as the Covenant, HALO the serieswill weave deeply drawn personal stories with action, adventure and a richly imagined vision of the future.

When we set out to create a television series about Halo and the Master Chief, our goal was to not only create an epic sci-fi adventure that would be fun to watch, but to dive into the characters, the personal stories, and the incredibly vast and detailed universe of Halo that we have mostly only seen through the games. It is a sci-fi show about characters both heroic and fallible, about having hope against overwhelming odds, and a central question – what are we willing to sacrifice of our humanity to save it?

The newest (and final) trailer for the show provides a glimpse into that personal storytelling side of the Halo series while expressing those central Halo themes of hope, heroism, humanity, and wonder.

This is a character drama set against the backdrop of epic stakes and all the action and mystery that comes with Halo. This trailer is titled, “Look Beyond” as we all look beyond where we are today and to the possibilities ahead.

This show has been a labor of love for many and it’s an extraordinary feeling to be sharing our pilot episode at SXSW. Along with some of our amazing cast and our showrunner, we will also get a chance to discuss reactions with press and fans afterwards. It’s been an honor and privilege to work side-by-side with the talented producers and actors that have brought the universe and the characters to life and share it with the world.

For our biggest fans on Xbox, we are also thrilled to announce that they can watch the series starting day one – Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members will be able to stream “Halo” through an exclusive offer of Paramount+ for 30 days free via Perks, available to claim starting on March 23.

The series stars Pablo Schreiber (“American Gods”) as the Master Chief, Spartan-117; Natascha McElhone (“Californication”) as Dr. Halsey, the brilliant, conflicted and inscrutable creator of the Spartan super soldiers; and Jen Taylor (“Halo” game series, RWBY) as Cortana, the most advanced AI in human history, and potentially the key to the survival of the human race. Additional stars include Bokeem Woodbine (“Fargo”), Shabana Azmi (“Fire”), Natasha Culzac (“The Witcher”), Olive Gray (“Half Moon Investigations”), Yerin Ha (“Reef Break”), Bentley Kalu (“Avengers: Age of Ultron”), Kate Kennedy (“Catastrophe”), Charlie Murphy (“Peaky Blinders”) and Danny Sapani (“Penny Dreadful”). Also joining the cast as original characters are Ryan McParland (“6Degrees”), Burn Gorman (“The Expanse”) and Fiona O’Shaughnessy (“Nina Forever”).

Prior to the series launch on March 24th, Paramount has already been renewed the Halo TV series for a second season. In addition, David Wiener (“Homecoming,” “The Killing,” “Brave New World”) will join the series as showrunner and executive producer for the second season.
