In Altered Alma, players embark on a journey through the neon-lit streets of Neo-Barcelona in a stunning cyberpunk Metroidvania adventure with RPG and dating sim elements.

As a young mercenary named Jack, carve your way through ruthless gangsters and thugs, work for some of the most dangerous people in the city, and make difficult moral choices while protecting your loved ones.

Altered Alma combines the beloved classic Metroidvania formula with RPG elements, dating sim features, a slick pixel-art presentation, and a gripping, non-linear story. Whether you want to beat up bad guys, find love, or just explore the beautiful cityscape, Neo-Barcelona awaits.

Developer 2Awesome Studio and publisher Critical Reflex announced an exciting new addition to its universe with the upcoming free DLC titled "Neon & Miracle", thanks to the overwhelming support from its Altered Alma Kickstarter campaign.

As a special surprise to backers and players alike, Altered Alma is collaborating with The Game Kitchen, creators of the hit indie game Blasphemous II, to deliver this unique crossover experience.

In the Neon & Miracle DLC, players will witness an unprecedented fusion of two strikingly different worlds. The story kicks off when Jackelyne, the main protagonist of Altered Alma, uses a powerful yet unstable device known as the Crucible. The experiment goes awry, tearing open a portal to the nightmarish land of Cvstodia from Blasphemous. As the dimensions collide, The Penitent One—the iconic character from Blasphemous—becomes trapped in Neo Barcelona.

Now, players must repair the Crucible to return balance to the universe. This journey involves completing thrilling parkour challenges in a digital landscape, racing against time to fix the broken device.

With only 24 hours left on the Altered Alma Kickstarter campaign, this announcement comes as a heartfelt thank you to the incredible community that has supported Altered Alma throughout the campaign. Reaching over 210.000€ in funding, the campaign has unlocked numerous stretch goals, including this epic collaboration.

The Neon & Miracle DLC will be available for free to all backers, as well as to regular players, upon the game’s release.

Key Features:

  • A Cyberpunk Metroidvania: Discover new routes, acquire powerful upgrades for Jack, and adapt your play style as you take on gangs and criminal kingpins of Neo-Barcelona.
  • Ship, Captain and Crew: Customize Kastefa, Jack's ship and the base of operations. Upgrade the Kastefa, recruit new crew members, and make it your own. The choices you make will directly influence Jack's abilities and play style.
  • Forge Relationships: Bond with rich, colorful characters: reconnect with Jack's old friends and make new ones. Recruit them to your cause, build relationships, and possibly even find love in this unforgiving world.
  • Engage in Intense Combat: Master the rapid, stylish combat system and use mobility, skill, and powerful abilities to overcome the relentless onslaught of enemies.
  • A Pantheon of Adversaries: Encounter lots of unique foes - from gangs of giant lizards to armies of cyborgs ... and don't forget a multitude of vicious bosses for Jack to beat.
  • Barcelona, Re-Imagined: Explore Neo-Barcelona, a futuristic city based on the real thing. Featuring iconic landmarks: Sagrada Familia, Park Guell and many others — although they may not look as you expect them to ...

The game is written by industry legends Antony Johnston (Resident Evil: Village, Dead Space) and Emma Beeby (Tails of Iron, F1 23).

Altered Alma is coming to the PC (Steam).
