'Mortal Rite' Steam Early Access Update Adds New Tutorial, Improved Onboarding, Bug fixes, Performance and Quality Of Life Updates

by Rainier on Feb. 17, 2025 @ 4:09 p.m. PST

Mortal Rite is an action-packed crossover between a Souls-like and Roguelike game where gamers fight solo or side-by-side with up to 5 co-op players, utilising swappable abilities and items while using the bodies of resurrected champions.

The core of Mortal Rite is a fast, action-based melee combat system that allows players to trade blows with enemies and rewards strategy over button-mashing.

Find ability points and items scattered throughout the world to unlock new strategies in combat.Items can be traded between players, and ability points can be spent in the refuge to customize your playstyle. Each area is guarded by a gatekeeper, upon their defeat, players can revisit the area for an additional challenge. When revisiting an area, players will traverse through an updated map, face new enemy compositions, and find new items.

Choose from a variety of characters to embody, each with their own lore, fighting style, and abilities. Overcome enemies by using different skills, strategies, cooperation, collecting and crafting items to stop the encroachment of the king. Play solo or co-op multiplayer from the very start of the game, with a maximum party size of 5.

Duel with your friends in the refuge for additional rewards, but be wary, as a larger party size will attract additional enemies.

Mortal Rite is available now for PC via Steam Early Access for $24.99/£19.99/€24.99 with a limited-time 5% launch discount.

Indie developer Round Toast Studios is pleased to announce the release of the first major update for Mortal Rite.
