Marking the final installment in the action RPG trilogy, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt combines decision-based storytelling flair with a living open world larger than any other in modern RPG history.Reggie Carolipio: The biggest reason I'm looking forward to this? Being forced to possibly defend myself after trying to save someone who didn't want to be saved in the first place. On a more serious note, it's the end of Geralt's arc with CD Projekt, and I've been with it since the start, so I want to experience what they have planned as a send-off for author Andrzej Sapkowski's famous hunter. Along the way, I'll also be doing my best to explore a sandbox bigger than Skyrim, use Geralt's tradecraft to hunt dangerous monsters for fun and profit, and toss my allegiance in with one of several factions — knowing full well someone else won't be happy and will probably want Geralt dead later on. Good times ahead.
Chris DeAngelus: There are few RPGs on the market like The Witcher. It was grim, serious, and filled with actual choices that altered the way the story developed, so it was tough to not get engrossed in the original games. The Witcher 3 adds extra polish and some breathtaking visuals to the mix. With the franchise's blend of dark fantasy and action-RPG gameplay already having withstood the test of time, it's easy to see why The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is high on any RPG fan's wish list.
Brian Dumlao: Trilogies live and die by their third act, and with the way the first two Witcher titles have played out so far, the third one has lots to live up to. The real test will be with the console versions. The title is known for pushing systems, and the Xbox 360 iteration of The Witcher 2 pushed the system to the point of almost breaking. If the third one handles well on the next-gen consoles, expect there to be a petition to port previous entries as well.
Tony "OUberLord" Mitera: Any words I could say here are meaningless; let's not pretend most RPG fans aren't already acutely aware of CD Projekt's upcoming epic finale to the Witcher trilogy. The title takes place in an open world for the first time, so Geralt will have a lot of land to cover and a lot of monsters to hunt down and slay. Bioware has a massive amount of competition on its hands with this one, and I'm not sure I favor its odds.
