60 Minutes To Air Episode Featuring Fatal1ty

In January 2006 CBS' 60 Minutes will air a feature segment covering Johnathan "Fatal1ty" Wendel and the international explosion of professional video gaming. The episode began filming one year ago at a gaming event in Sweden, and concludes with the Cyberathlete Professional League (CPL) World Finals in New York City, with many stops in between. It also includes an interview with Fatal1ty at his home and training center in Kansas City, Missouri in preparation for this program.

Indie Developers Like Xbox 360 Live Arcade

Two of the UK's most innovative independent developers, Stainless Games and Pompom Software, announce the release of their new Next Generation titles, Crystal Quest and Mutant Storm Reloaded on Xbox 360 Live Arcade. Both titles are premier examples of the 'Modern Retro', being high-end remixes of classic styles of gameplay.

Krome Studios Wins AGDC Awards

Krome Studios has secured two key awards at this year’s Australian Game Developers Conference (AGDC). The company received Best Original Character Design for TY the Tasmanian Tiger 3: Night of the Quinkan and the Career Achievement Award was given to Creative Director / Co-founder Steve Stamatiadis.

'Splinter Cell : Essentials' (PSP) Revealed

Earlier this year, Ubisoft's 2005-2006 release schedule made mention that Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell was going to be making an appearance on the PSP. While there still has not been an official announcement rumors are floating around that it may be called Splinter Cell : Essentials, and that name might indicate some sort of compilation instead of an all new product. Either way, the PSP will most likely includes wifi multiplayer, which is always a welcome addition.

'Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams' (PS2) Gets Release Date

Expected spring 2006 in Japan, Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams is situated in 1598 and will have several new features and additions over previous titles, such as a new camera system, updated graphics and optimized gameplay mechanics. While no specific info, or announcement, Capcom did reveal that Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams is scheduled for released in North America on March 14, in Europe on March 17, and if all of that is too long, you can always import it from Japan on January 26, 2006.

'Faces of War' - 23 New Screens

'Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter' (ALL) Gets Delayed

The official Ghost Recon website has been updated reflecting a that GRAW has been postponed and pushed back from its original Feb 1 release date to March 2006. In Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon 3, players will embody Captain Scott Mitchell as he commands the Ghosts and Special Forces allies equipped with the IWS in the quest to save the president of the United States, recover stolen nuclear codes and eliminate a vicious band of renegade soldiers hell-bent on unleashing catastrophe.

Microsoft's CEO Doesn't Have An Xbox 360

Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer will have to shop around for an X360 console this holiday season just like everybody else. "The Ballmer children do not have their Xbox 360 yet. I'm in the same boat as many of you," Ballmer said. "Thanks to the wonders of Sarbanes-Oxley, management does not get a free Xbox 360," he quipped at a meeting of technology industry executives. Sarbanes-Oxley means Microsoft would have to classify a free game console as income for Ballmer.
