Sega Europe Ltd, today confirmed that it is in the process of instigating its own publishing operation to bring to market videogames for all viable gaming platforms. Sega Europe will be building up areas to look after all elements of sales, marketing and PR, to join its pre-existing development infrastructure, with the aim of maximising the sales potential of its popular gaming brands across all PAL-based territories. Previously, Sega Europe had a number of agreements with third-party publishers to bring SEGA-developed titles to market across these territories.

Atari today announced that it will publish Artifact Entertainment's "Horizons," one of the most closely-followed and highly-anticipated massively multiplayer online role playing games (MMORPG) in years. Currently in development for the PC by Artifact Entertainment, Horizons will allow players to experience online gaming like never before in a single massive online world primed for exploration, brimming with adventure and rife with danger.

According to a post on the BlackIsle forum by PR guru Jessica Urquhart, Lionheart is scheduled for release on August 12, 2003. The original date set was April, so there is no specific reason why the game is delayed for almost 6 months ... Read the forum post.

Last week 3DO released new patches for the North American versions of 'Heroes of Might and Magic IV' and its 'The Gathering Storm' expansion pack to v3.0, this week it is time for the UK version. Noticed on HomeLan that the development of Akella's "Sea Dogs II" has been suspended and that title will not be released this year. We want everyone who had been looking forward to Sea Dogs II to be aware that Pirates of the Caribbean offers outstanding role-playing gameplay in a similar setting. Bethesda Softworks and Disney Interactive today announced that Bethesda Softworks will publish a Pirates of the Caribbean video game for the Xbox, PlayStation2, and PC. Inspired by one of this summer's most anticipated blockbusters, the game will bring swashbuckling adventures and rich worlds to Xbox and PC this June, and to PS2 at a later date.
