The 'Roughnecks' are Back!

So what, i like StarShip Troopers ... Carnage all around .. good stuff .. Needless to say that the game announcement from Similis made me happy .. Under development by the German developers is Roughnecks, a new 3D action/adventure game. They have also launched the game's official website PlanetRoughnecks which offers the first details on the game, their in-house 3D SIMotion engine as well as what they believe will make their game different, their combat system. Also some characters/art, items, and levels screens. Check it out!

Robin Hood, a new game of tactics and action, thrusts players into an amazing and realistic medieval environment where they are hauled from the depths of Sherwood Forest to the ramparts of Nottingham Castle. Personally i am looking forward to this game, it looks excellent .. makes me think of a mix between Commandos and Stronghold .. Njoy the screens!

'Rails Across America' Releases A New Patch

Strategy First and Flying Labs announced today that they have released a patch for their award winning strategy game, Rails Across America. The patch allows players to navigate the map and view financial reports even while the game is paused, giving them more time to make decisions and to explore the Rails Across America environment. The patch also includes a new map editor that allows players to create their own maps (for single player mode only), as well as some minor bug fixes and tweaks to gameplay.

Frontline Attack: War over Europe, a 3D real-time strategy game in the works at Poland-based development teams In Images and Reality Pump. Frontline Attack: War over Europe uses the Earth III engine known from games such as Earth 2140, Earth 2150. Eidos seems to have picked up the rights to Zuxxez Entertainment's "World War II: Panzer Claws", the 3D RTS that was already in development since last year. German RTS fans can rejoice, the game will be released a full month earlier than anywhere else. Njoy the screens!

Gotham Games seems to be going for a strong start after earlier today bringing us goodies for Conflict Desert Storm they now gave us some screens for Croteam's Serious Sam. After Sam terrorized the PC he is now aiming for the Xbox. Njoy the goodies!

'Soldiers Of Anarchy' Movies

Tonight Blues News serves up some movies from Soldiers of Anarchy, the 3D tactical RTS being developed at Silverstyle Entertainment. There is a gameplay movie that sports some three and a half minutes of action-packed footage, demonstrating combat with the game's eponymous soldiers and a variety of vehicles, complete with a rocking soundtrack for the price of a 17.2 MB download in AVI format. The second movie demonstrates the game's editor in more than six minutes of AVI footage (18.3 MB), complete with German commentary by lead designer Carsten Strehse.

UbiSoft and Bluebyte let us know that tomorrow between 16.00-17.00PM (Euro time) you might experience problems accessing Settlers lobby and Bluebyte servers due to maintenance work. Ubi.com nor the other Ubisoft servers will be affected (unless lightning strikes) by this. At the same time we can also announce that a new Settlers 4 mission cd is expected in Oktober (last mission cd was August 2001) bringing new campaigns to the game.

Tony Hawk Extends Exclusive Agreement With Activision

Activision, Inc. announced today that the company has extended its successful partnership with world-renowned skateboarder Tony Hawk through an exclusive multi-year video game licensing agreement that expires in 2015. Mr. Hawk will continue to headline Activision O2’s flagship action sports franchise, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater, which has generated approximately $500 million worldwide through March 31, 2002 and which was the single largest independent U.S. video game franchise during calendar 2001, according to NPD.
