Acting as an elite soldier, players of "Vietcong" command the A-team, part of the U.S. Special Forces, in realistically represented Vietnamese environments. Players will lead as many as six expertly trained soldiers through 20 dramatic missions, and follow a storyline that captures the danger, fear and unpredictability of the war itself. Arxel Tribe announced today a distribution deal with Tri Synergy to distribute The Gladiators in North America. The Gladiators is a 3D real-time strategy game featuring a heavy emphasis on tactics and action. Arxel feels that The Gladiators could be a real hit in the North American market and wants to make sure it gets there in a timely fashion. The Gladiators is scheduled for a February 2002 release in North America.

Ubi Soft Entertainment announced Evolution Worlds for the Nintendo GameCube has shipped to retail stores nationwide. Evolution Worlds is the highly anticipated, epic RPG adventure exclusive to Nintendo GameCube, which combines the stories from the best-selling Dreamcast RPGs, Evolution and Evolution 2. Evolution Worlds is rated "E-Everyone" and is available for a suggested retail price of $49.99.

Xicat tears up the track with its latest release, Motor Trend presents Lotus Challenge, to be released for the Xbox video game system from Microsoft in late 2002 in North America. This is the first auto racing video game to bear the Motor Trend name and seal of approval.

The Neverwinter Nights Patches Page now offers downloads of a new version 1.27 patch for Neverwinter Nights for the English, German, French, Italian and Spanish versions of BioWare's D&D RPG. The new version adds a couple of game resources, support for ATI shiny water, some campaign fixes, a new plot wizard for the Aurora toolset, and more. It is warned that modules created and saved under the new version cannot be played with older versions of the game, and they supply a reversion patch to go back to version 1.26 if this is required to play custom modules and such (thanks Bluesnews).
