In honor of the 25th anniversary of Tron, Disney Interactive Studios today announced the classic arcade games Tron and Discs of Tron will be re-released this summer through Xbox LIVE Arcade for the Xbox 360.

Last year THQ announced it would bring SimBin's GTR to the Xbox 360, but it hasn't been heard of since, and now we know why. THQ confirms that it is no longer publishing the FIA GT Championships-based racing game, and instead will focus on its own racing licenses such as Juiced, MX and Stuntman. Whether Simbin has already found a new publishing partner is not known at this point.

Set in the deceptively idyllic town of Bright Falls, Washington, Alan Wake places gamers in the role of the best-selling suspense author, Alan Wake. He escapes to this small town to recover from the mysterious disappearance of his fiancée. In Bright Falls Wake comes face to face with his darkest nightmares.

THQ announced that it has entered into a development agreement with Big Huge Games, known for Rise of Nations, for a brand new RPG scheduled for release on the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC in 2009.

EA announced that it will make a $1 million grant to the Masters of Digital Media program (MDM) at the Great Northern Way Campus in Vancouver, British Columbia, to advance interactive media education in Canada and create a launch pad for the next-gen of interactive entertainment leaders.

Square Enix's Dragon Quest IX: Defender of the Stars, developed by Level 5, is the first title on any Nintendo system since Dragon Quest VI, 10 years ago. Featuring WiFi support for four players in co-op, DQ IX is currently scheduled for released mid-2007 in Japan.
