Championship Gaming Series (CGS) announced its 2008 Qualifier and Draft events for Europe. Top European gamers will compete for a share of 35,000 euros in prize money and the attention of CGS General Managers who will be evaluating and choosing the best gaming talent for their respective teams.

Championship Gaming Series, the government of Wuhan and the Wuhan Hi Tech Group, announced the creation of the world's premiere eSports training center and professional gaming arena at the Wuhan Optical Valley Electronic Sports Stadium, which will also serve as the location for the upcoming CGS 2008 Pan-Asia Final.

Championship Gaming Series announced its official four games for the upcoming 2008 televised season, Valve’s Counter-Strike: Source, EA Sports’ FIFA 08, Tecmo’s Dead or Alive 4 and Microsoft Game Studios Forza Motorsport 2. CGS will be announcing its official slate of 2008 online games in the coming weeks.

More than 100 of the world's top gamers will compete for the league's first-ever World Champion title and a share of the $1,000,000 prize purse. The competition will be captured live and in HD on DIRECTV's original entertainment channel, The 101, from Dec. 6-14, starting at 10pm ET.

The Championship Gaming Series announced that worldwide salaries and bonuses for the 2007 season will, for the first time ever, exceed $5 million. Qualifying for North American league play will begin April 28 and the first draft in history will take place on June 12 at the Playboy Mansion in Los Angeles.
