The official Raven-Shield website has word that we can expect a new Ravenshield v1.56 & Athena Sword v1.02 update patch for Ubisoft's team based tacitcal shooters somewhere next week. The new v1.56 Ravenshield patch will lock the debug commands that were left unlocked in the previous patch. The v1.02 Athena Sword one will addresses a bug in the meta data of certain maps that caused operatives of opposing teams to have similarly colored uniforms, as well as on Siberia, the armor levels of the two opposing teams were set at different levels, which has been resolved. Of course we will have it available on our fileservers ....

The official Raven-Shield website has word that we can expect a new Raveshield v1.52 update patch for Ubisoft team based tacitcal shooter next week Tuesday Jan 27th. The main focus of this patch is to fix the wall-peek glitch introduced in 1.5 & 1.51. However, some other optimizations and tweaks were also aimed at fixing some other gameplay issues, notably frag and ladder lock. Of course we will have it available on our fileservers ....

We have the US/UK and German versions of the patch available as well as a v1.4 dedicated win32 server (update & full), as well as client and serverside punkbuster updates. As was the case with the Raven Shield v1.3 patch, it seems that another glitch has made its way in v1.4. "An incompatibility has been found regarding the unlocking of custom missions between campaigns saved prior to version 1.4 and those saved with version 1.4. This problem prevents players from playing solo maps that they have unlocked in campaign mode with a version prior to 1.4 in the custom mission mode in version 1.4. It doesn't affect multiplayer maps or multiplayer play. There is no workaround but a fix has already been found and will be included in patch 1.41, due out next Tuesday. New campaigns played with version 1.4 will unlock maps without a problem and the maps will be available in custom missions. Campaigns saved with a version prior to 1.4 will continue working in version 1.4." (thanks Blues)

" We've added the finishing touches to 1.31 and it is confirmed that the patch will be made available Tuesday, July 29th. Patch 1.31 will only include the arm patches fix that that caused server connection problems. Testing on it will begin next week and public release is expected in 3 weeks. Tony Ray, from Even Balance, is working closely with the development team in integrating Punkbuster and everything is going smoothly. The SA servers (windows - linux) will hit testing in a few days. Exact release on this is uncertain right now. What can you expect in the future? Patch 1.4 is being worked on and is scheduled for release at the end of August. This is shaping up to be the largest patch thus far in terms of bug fixes and improvements. Plans for an official MOD and release of an SDK are underway (expect both to come later).

The official Ravenshield website has been updated with some information about the problem with their v1.3 patch and what to expect for the next (v1.4) patch. Patch 1.3: Two major issues were identified and reproduced after the patch was released: A server crash related to the arm patches & non-working CD-keys. Both problems are being investigated, and a fix will be issued as soon as possible. Patch 1.4: Development is progressing well on patch 1.4. Many bugs related to the netcode have been solved, including reticule lock, zoom staying active, a grenade bug, and players getting stuck in ladders. Some game improvements have also been made, including removal of trigger lag. Players will automatically switch back to his/her primary weapon after throwing their last grenade or other disposable weapon (thanks Bluesnews).

Noticed on BluesNews that a post on Raven Shield Platoon describes a problem they've found with the newly released v1.3 patch for Raven Shield, as well as the workaround that will at least allow you to get out without rebooting should it happen to you. Here's the deal: The 1.3 patch has an error that causes servers to crash on the "deploying countdown". The crash has you (and everyone else in the server) sitting in the game staring at the countdown stuck on 1. This happens at random times. The only way to exit is to open console and type in either disconnect or quit.
