The official IL-2 Sturmovik website has been updated and has mention of an upcoming patch for UbiSoft's WWII Flight Simulator game. The first patch for IL-2 Forgotten Battles is currently being finished and is planned to be released during the week commencing 4 August 2003 (thanks Bluesnews). Ubi Soft Entertainment today announced that the next product in the IL-2 Sturmovik flight simulation product line, IL-2 Sturmovik: Forgotten Battles, will no longer be an add-on to the original game, but upgraded to a feature packed full, standalone sequel that will not require gamers to own the original IL-2 Sturmovik product. IL-2 Sturmovik: Forgotten Battles will be released on February 20th 2003.

Since 1.0.07 was released back in March we have been working hard on a number of fixes and significant enhancements and tweaks to BCM. The plan is to release a final stable single patch and then release the free multiplayer patch which we are also working on.

In order to ensure that all known issues are resolved before releasing the multiplayer patch, we have been releasing RC patches to interested parties. Today, the 1.0.08 RC23 has been made available as a wide release. We expect the next patch to be the final 1.0.08 patch and which will replace this RC23. The multiplayer patch will follow after.

Ubi Soft Entertainment today announced features of IL-2 Sturmovik: Forgotten Battles, its forthcoming expansion pack for use with the multi-award winning IL-2 Sturmovik World War II combat flight simulation. The expansion pack will add 30 new missions, 27 additional flyable aircraft and a new dynamic campaign system offering almost limitless replayability. IL-2 Sturmovik: Forgotten Battles is expected to ship to North American retail shelves this winter, with an MSRP of $19.99.

3DGamers today tossed up a retail patch v1.2 for IL-2 Sturmovik, upgrading the World War II combat flight sim to version 1.2. This release offers four new flyable aircraft, ten new single-player missions and six new cooperative online missions.. There is also a new patch for Grand Prix 4, bringing this Formula 1 racing simulation by Geoff Crammond and Simergy to version 4.0. This release addresses nearly two dozen gameplay and technical issues.
