Acclaim has released the first update patch for their recently released action/hack'n slash title 'Gladiator: Sword Of Vengeance'. This upgrade is labelled USK18 (for German version of the game only) and addresses some issue with the blood effects as well as fixing the inability to perform certain finishing moves. Currently under development with Acclaim's Manchester studio, Gladiator Sword of Vengeance is an epic adventure set in ancient Rome, where warriors' fates are decided by the cold steel of a sword. Eugen Systems and Arxel Tribe have released a patch for their recent multiplayer demo of The Gladiators: Galactic Circus Games, upgrading this 3D action RTS to version 3.1. This release merely fixes "the Invalid Key error message during session connection," and an updated full demo install is available as well (thanks 3DGamers).

Arxel Tribe announced today a distribution deal with Tri Synergy to distribute The Gladiators in North America. The Gladiators is a 3D real-time strategy game featuring a heavy emphasis on tactics and action. Arxel feels that The Gladiators could be a real hit in the North American market and wants to make sure it gets there in a timely fashion. The Gladiators is scheduled for a February 2002 release in North America.

A new patch for The Gladiators: Galactic Circus Games has been released, updating the UK edition of this 3D action RTS by Eugen Systems to version 1.2. This release adds 17 new multiplayer maps, multiplayer and co-operative enhancements and fixes, and other changes. Strategy First has release a tiny patch for the just released WWII strategy game Hearts of Iron with a number of fixes for the North American version of the Paradox Entertainment developed game. It's the 1970's, and the American military is working on an top-secret new space shuttle project which goal is to study the "black hole" phenomenon recently discovered by western scientists.As the shuttle's construction is coming to an end, the mission is entrusted to Officer Greg D. Callahan, a former US Marines major.The shuttle is launched under heavy secrecy towards an asteroid field where a physical phenomenon resembling that of the famous "black holes" has been detected.As the mission is approaching the asteroid field, the NASA loses all contact with the crew and receives no further signal from the shuttle. ARXEL TRIBE announces today that THE GLADIATORS is nearing completion with a whole set of new features since they last presented the game at ECTS: full implementation of the multiplayer functions (LAN and Internet), new maps, full integration of pre-rendered and RT animations and final level design treatment of the maps, and a lot more... They also confirm a Europe wide launch of the title between October 15th and November 15th and a launch in the USA and Asia early Q1/2003.
