Electronic Arts and UK-based developer Free Radical Design today announced a distribution and publishing agreement for the next game in the best selling TimeSplitters franchise. Developed by Free Radical, the new title in the celebrated series will be published by EA Partners and is scheduled for worldwide release in 2005. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

TimeSplitters 2 is the sequel to the hugely successful and critically acclaimed TimeSplitters and has been developed by Free Radical Design. TimeSplitters 2 improves on the original in every conceivable way. The game offers a more involving story mode, featuring a complex narrative set across nine different time periods, from twentieth century Siberia to the Wild West to Futuristic Neo Tokyo. Fileplanet tossed up a small 296KB trailer from Eidos Interactives upcoming title TimeSplitters 2. In this first-ever trailer you get a glimpse into the world that IS TimeSplitters 2. Take a look at the frenetic action in areas that range from a freezing cold Siberian outpost, ultra-dark visions of a futuristic robot factory, to a gangster-ridden pool hall in old-school Chicago.

Eidos Interactive announces that TimeSplitters 2 is currently in development for the Xbox video game system and the Nintendo GameCube. TimeSplitters 2 will improve on many of the features that made the original so awesome and fun to play. Check out 70 screens below!
