Finally! After many months of rumors and petitions, Sam & Max creator Steve Purcell, currrently working at Pixar, has come to an agreement with Telltale Games to work on the next Sam & Max title. After LucasArts cancelled Sam & Max: Freelance Police in 2004, the game has been in limbo, but the new agreement is not to continue where LucasArts left off, the new title will be a new product, with added content, and will be released in episodes, much like Telltale's current project Bone. More details to come in the near future ...

The latest issue of Japanese magazine Famitsu reveals that Capcom is bringing its popular Samurai franchise to the next-gen, and each platform will be getting its own title. Way of the Samurai 3 will be the name of the action/adventure title on Playstation 3, while the X360 is getting Way of the Samurai Online. No specific information is available at this point, but the upcoming Tokyo Game Show will surely bring more light to the matter. While the Xbox 360 title is expected at the end 2006, the PS3 version is currently scheduled for 2007.

Namco and leading Japanese animation studio, GDH K.K. announced today that GDH has granted Namco the exclusive interactive entertainment rights to "Afro Samurai," the gritty manga series created by Takashi Okazaki. The agreement gives Namco rights to publish two different "Afro Samurai" video games over the next five years.

Take2's Serious Sam II
multiplayer details announcement yesterday stirred up a bit of a ruckus due to the lack of any deathmatch support, and today fan site Seriously!
received confirmation from developer Croteam it will release a patch after the game's initial launch that will add/enable multiplayer deathmatch. Whether this was initially plannend or due to fanbase pressure was not specified.

forum post reveals plans for a Serious Sam 2 demo, said to be released a month before the game is scheduled to ship to stores. Certain outlets have SS 2 listed for October 10th, so that could mean that the demo could arrive ted as early as September. And Xbox demo is also scheduled, but won't arrive until later. If you pre-order now through EBGames or GameStop, you will get an original, LIMITED EDITION piece of artwork, signed, numbered and illustrated by famed comic book artist Greg Horn (
