The Independent Games Festival has announced the Main Competition finalists for the 13th annual presentation of its awards, celebrating the brightest and most influential creations to come out of the independent video game development community in the past year.

Nintendo added three WiiWare (one demo), and three NDSiWare titles to the Shop Channels. Nintendo owners with online access can redeem points to download: Sneezies, Ghost Mania, Robox demo (Wiiware), Alt-Play: Jason Rohrer Anthology, Word Searcher 2, and Music on: Drums (NDSi).

Cole MacGrath makes his electrifying return in inFAMOUS 2, taking the franchise to all-new heights in an immersive open world action adventure that offers a more visceral, emotional and powerful take on the true superhero experience.

Isaac Clarke returns for another heart-pounding adventure, taking the fight to the Necromorphs in this thrilling action-horror experience. Dead Space 2 will get an animated feature, Dead Space Aftermath, and a graphic novel, Dead Space Salvage, as part of the game's pre-launch campaign.

For the first time ever, players will experience Monopoly as a fully dynamic, living, 3D world that continuously evolves with the video game action.

The Burnout hasn't seen many installments on Nintendo's consoles, only Burnout 2 and Burnout Legends, but Criterion was about to change that according to EA's Outsourcing Manager Paul Dibden. Burnout Freestyle was never officially announced, but it is now classified as "Unpublished," another term for canceled. Similarities to Rockstar's Chinatown Wars are obvious, not only in appearance and touch controls, but also the presence of mini-games.

Mass Effect is a sci-fi adventure set in a vast universe filled with dangerous alien life forms and mysterious uncharted planets. In ME2, Saren's evil army of Geth soldiers has just been defeated, and humans are now faced with an even greater peril.

Yesterday was pretty subdued. We ran some errands and watched TV for the rest of the day. We got sucked into the Pillars of the Earth miniseries and two of the Millennium Trilogy movies.

The New Year has begun!  We had a relaxing NYE, no craziness, and yesterday we spent most of our time watching movies (Predator, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince) and a few episodes of Supernatural.

Today will be equally quiet, apart from doing some grocery shopping, we have nothing planned, so we'll have done quite a bit of catching up on our DVR over the past few days. Go us!

We've been debating about upgrading our phones and switching to the iPhone, but we've been waiting for Verizon to announce their version. However, my current cell was getting on my last nerve (battery kept dying after 1-2 calls or text messages) and on our way back from the movies earlier this week, we decided to get it over with and we got ourselves a pair of Droid 2 phones. We picked that one over the Droid X because it works internationally, and now we get to play Angry Birds wherever we go!

In Crysis 2, New York is under the attack of a unique and frightening alien species that combines deadly weaponry, exceptional sensory abilities and intelligent collaboration to present players with the most challenging opponents ever seen in a first-person shooter.

While it wasn't exactly a super secret, EA has yet to officially announce that DICE is working on the next installment in the Battlefield franchise. Not many details have been revealed but DICE dev Johan Andersson revealed a little while back that the new Frostbite 2 engine will be DirectX11 focused, with DX10 compatibility, but since WinXP is DX9, the aging OS will not be supported.

Battle For Freedom will be multiplayer and playable up to 8 players, 7 freedom fighters and The Boss. The Boss sends enemies on the survivors with a RTS view, while the 7 freedom fighters have got unique abilities and fight in a FPS view.

Capsized is a physics based action game from indie developer Alien Trap, known for the free to play FPS Nexuiz.
