earlier this year when UK based publisher/developer Oxygen Games sold off all its internal development studios, as it has fallen into administration (Chapter 11) according to
MCV.
In 2007 Oxygen opened a North American branch, so it is not certain yet if the Northern California office will be affected as well. Oxygen Games is best known for titles such as
PDC World Championship Darts,
Chronos Twins, and
various other budget titles.

With Resistance 2 having been released about a year ago and Insomniac just wrapping up development on Ratchet & Clank, it seems its next project
has already been revealed. Spotted on a billboard in Shreveport, Louisiana, was an advertisement for Resistance 3, showing little information apart from a Statue of Liberty and the Empire State building in the logo, indicating the game might be set in New York. It is said to be part of the "
Battle: Los Angeles" movie being filmed in Shreveport by Sony-owned Columbia Pictures (starring Aaron Eckhart and Michelle Rodriguez), which is scheduled for release in Feb. 2011.

We saw Surrogates today, and while I'm a big Bruce Willis fan, I must admit that this is not his best work. It was just a weak movie with a weak story, and it was also slow on several occasions. If you insist on seeing it, wait for it to be available as a DVD rental. It's definitely not a movie that needs to be seen in the theatre.
Apart from that, we didn't do a whole lot. Watched Smallville, some more The Amazing Race, and checked out Operation Flashpoint 2, which has good graphics and may be easier to get into and has fewer bugs than its rival, Arma II.
There are three press trips lined up for this week, so there's plenty of gaming goodness coming your way. Stay tuned ....

Planetside players have received a survey from SOE asking for help with the design for a new Planetside game, and now SOE CEO John Smedley
revealed that it plans to "make it a lot better. Massive battles on a scale no other FPS will touch. None of this 64 player stuff. REALLY MASSIVE. With much better organization, and a tight focus on making sure the action is always going on, with awesome graphics.'
