2K Sports announced today that international tennis champions Roger Federer, the reigning Wimbledon champion and #1 ranked men's player and Maria Sharapova, the #2 ranked women's tennis player in the world will be the official spokespersons and cover athletes for Top Spin on the PS2.

2K Sports today announced that it will be releasing the number one rated tennis game, Top Spin, on the PlayStation2. Developed by PAM Development and produced by Indie Built, a 2K Sports development studio, Top Spin for PlayStation 2 will be available this summer.

While not officially announced yet, word has it that Microsoft's acclaimed tennis title Top Spin is headed for the PC. Oddly enough the game will not be published by Microsoft but rather by Atari. The conversion is being done by the original Xbox developers Power and Magic Dev. No further details are available at this point.

Tennis is a nice game. Women wear pretty white dresses and men wear collared shirts and hit a little ball over the net in a civilized manner, but Microsoft's XSN Sports is about to change all of that. Tennis is going to get a huge dose of attitude.
