Digital Illusions have decided to discontinue the New York office, Trauma Studios, previoisly known for the Desert Combat mod. All of the twelve employees are offered employment at the head office in Stockholm, for which they'd have to move from US to icecold Sweden.

Following the close of the acceptance period for Electronic Arts' offer to the shareholders of Digital Illusions, EA now controls a total of 6,852,148 shares, representing 67.8% of the outstanding capital and votes in DICE.

Well you can't say they did not put up a fight, or at least, played hard to get. Electronic Arts today announced the completion of its offer to the shareholders of Digital Illusions CE (DICE). The acceptance period for EA's offer to the shareholders of DICE, made on November 15, 2004, expired on January 20, and shareholders have accepted EA's offer.

The current offer would have made EA the owner of more than 50 percent of the total number of shares, representing a majority vote in DICE after outstanding employee stock options have been exercised. Even though the extended acceptance period has not yet expired, EA has waived the above-mentioned condition.

Digital Illusions has signed a contract for development of a game to PS2, Xbox and to the next-gen platforms expected from Microsoft and Sony (Xbox2/PS3). The titles will be published by Electronic Arts and are planned for a late 2006 or early 2007 debut.

Electronic Arts Inc. and Swedish developer Digital Illusions, C.E. (DICE) today announced a strategic investment and long-term publishing agreement for video games made by DICE studios. EA has purchased a minority interest in DICE and licensed the worldwide publishing rights for future products developed by DICE. In 2002, DICE and EA partnered to release the global blockbuster, Battlefield 1942. The critically acclaimed online multi-player game is in distribution in more than 36 countries and has shipped more than 900,000 games to date. In January 2003, EA released a Battlefield 1942 expansion pack titled Battlefield: The Road to Rome, with all new content to accompany the original game.

Konami of America, Inc. announced today that Yu-Gi-Oh! Dungeon Dice Monsters for the GBA has shipped to retail outlets nationwide. We'll try to get our hands on a copy asap and give it the WP treatment (not sure wether that is a good thing or not though ;)
