Advent Rising is a third-person, intergalactic action/adventure of epic proportions, akin to a fast-paced action movie where the player is swept up in an ever-evolving series of sequences and events. Originally developed by GlyphX Games, the game's designer Donald Mustard, now with Epic studio's Chair Entertainment, which is comprised of several former AR developers, would love to continue the original trilogy idea, but the IP is owned by Majesco.

StarCraft II will feature the return of the Protoss, Terran, and Zerg races, overhauled and re-imagined with Blizzard's approach to game balance, designed to be the ultimate competitive RTS game. At Blizzcon's StarCraft II lore panel, Blizzard revealed that Battlestar Galactica star Tricia Helfer will voice Kerrigan.

Set within a near-fictional, historical WWII setting, players take on the role of the heroic OSA agent BJ Blazkowicz as they are thrust into the unknown and unexpected to battle against combat troops, otherworldly forces, and the dark science created by a supernatural Nazi force hell-bent on world domination.

Inspired by the popular and addictive “tower defense” genre in PixelJunk Monsters Deluxe, the player controls a defender-of-the-forest character in a lush 2D environment. The player’s goal is to strategically defend the pathway to his homebase from an onslaught of various threatening monsters.

The story of Valkyria Chronicles II takes place two years after the conclusion of the original game. A group of young Gallian Military Academy cadets find themselves plunged into a bitter civil war when the newly formed Gallian Revolutionary Army stages a coup. As the epic drama unfolds in the game, players will experience stories of friendship, love and growing pains during a time of war and revolution.

Sacred 2 is a action-oriented deep fantasy RPG where players are immersed in an epic journey through the medieval-like kingdom of Ancaria featuring pitched battles and a wide range of enticing quests. While Sacred 2 has been quite a success, it was the demise of publisher Ascaron, and the developer recently closed down. Deep Silver will be publishing the addon later this year, and revealed at GamesCom that it has acquired the license, and Sacred 3 is already in the planning stage.

In celebration of the 20th anniversary of the SEGA Genesis, the company put up a poll asking fans which of their old classics it wanted as the next Xbox Live Arcade title. Earthworm Jim was initially included and in the lead, but a licensing issue with Gameloft, who is working on a remake for Wii/PSN/XBLA, forced SEGA to remove the game, making ToeJam & Earl the winner in the end. No further details or release dates were revealed yet.

Stargate Worlds, an MMORPG using Epic’s Unreal Engine 3 technology, provides players with a form of ranged combat unique to MMORPGs that will take full advantage of modern and science fiction weaponry, cover and terrain. SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation focuses on online play and the global community and clans that support it, with Tournaments, Clan Ladders, and Leader Boards. The long promised v1.50 patch is coming next week Tuesday, followed by v1.60 which will include free DLC.

Based on the animated series, players will assume control of over 10 of their favorite ninja, including the dreaded Akatsuki, promising to deliver fierce ninja action as players re-live the Naruto Shippuden storyline and experience a brand new adventure.

LittleBigPlanet is a community-based game where players meet on a blue and green planet scattered with individual plots — and use their character's abilities to play, create and share what they build with other gamers via PSN. Media Molecule plans to roll out an update that adds water to the game, and is looking for people to help them test it.

Diablo III is an action RPG where you create a hero from one of five distinct classes, each equipped with an array of spells and abilities, and adventure through rich and varied settings, unraveling an epic storyline and engaging in combat with hordes of monsters and challenging bosses. While the Monk class was revealed earlier, Blizzard's Paul Sams stated that it is in talks to bring Diablo III to consoles, and CEO Mike Morhaime said only the WoW expansion and SC2 are planned for 2010.
