French studio Widescreen Games, known for
Black Buccaneer and
Wild Water Adrenaline, is no more. Today, Bankruptcy Court of Lyon liquidated the studio, which found itself in financial problems after CD Projekt
canceled development on its multiplatform RPG, The Witcher: Rise of the White Wolf. Negotiations were underway with Namco Bandai Games to pick up the title, but with the recent Atari transition, there were too many complexities, and talks seized. With no other projects in the pipeline, the studio was forced to call it quits, and a large number of the employees have already been snapped up by Ubisoft (
